“We must accelerate our actions. Our enemies are growing increasingly brazen. Elder Shi Xiu was killed just a day after being captured, which shows their sole aim is to annihilate us. Everyone present must pay utmost attention to your own safety. When you move, bring more people with you. Avoid frequenting places you often visit, lest our adversaries exploit your habits to ambush you. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, contact each other by phone. We must all focus on tracking down this Chinese man. He is our mortal enemy; there’s no room for compromise, so don’t entertain any unrealistic hopes. The enemy will never negotiate with us!” Takematsu Mokuhira spoke in a grave tone.

“Judging from the ruthless, silent attacks on our Black Dragon Society, negotiation is impossible. Master Takematsu is right—the enemy this time is our mortal foe, intent on destroying us. This concerns our very survival; it’s either their death or ours. Therefore, I ask everyone to do your utmost to root out our enemy. I am counting on you all.” Inu Taro agreed with Takematsu Mokuhira’s opinion. Hearing the president speak so decisively, all the leaders of the Black Dragon Society hurriedly knelt, pledging to fully investigate the murderer. Yet they all knew that finding a single person in a city of nearly ten million was a daunting task.

Four days later, Wei Hua received a call from Ruan Wenyong. Ruan had returned to the Changbai Technology Laboratory, and the Cayman Islands bank accounts had been set up. Transfers could be made simply with the password, and no one could investigate them. Wei Hua carefully noted down the accounts and passwords, then instructed Ruan Wenyong to keep news of him strictly contained within the company, stating that Wei Hua was engaged in an extremely important scientific experiment and must not be disturbed by anyone.

Wei Hua remained inactive for four consecutive days. Inu Taro and Takematsu Mokuhira were pleased, thinking their actions had had an effect, but they still had not identified their enemy. So Inu Taro called his son, Inu Heiji, who was responsible for tracking Wei Hua’s whereabouts. When Inu Heiji answered, Inu Taro asked,

“Heiji! Has the whereabouts of the Chinese man, Wei Hua, been confirmed? Is he the person we’re looking for?”

“President! Our people in America have not seen Wei Hua in person yet. The security measures at the Changbai Technology Laboratory are extremely strict; our men cannot infiltrate. The guards there were all elite soldiers, and their security is airtight. However, our sources indicate that Wei Hua is conducting an important scientific experiment inside the lab. Furthermore, our informant within the Kinoshita family has provided a clue that seems to confirm this. Negotiations between Excellence Corporation and Matsushita have halted again, due to disagreements over market area divisions. Both sides have suspended talks to reconsider. The Kinoshita informant learned from the three female CEOs of Excellence that they needed to call America to consult with Wei Hua. Our informant witnessed them calling the States, though he couldn’t hear what was said. Negotiations are set to resume tomorrow. So I believe Wei Hua is still in America; perhaps we’ve targeted the wrong person!” Inu Heiji reported his opinion cautiously.

“These are all indirect reports! We need direct, firsthand information. The strategist and I are certain—it must be a trick by that Chinese man. Our people in America must personally confirm Wei Hua’s whereabouts, and continue searching for any strangers. It seems our recent actions have caused significant trouble for the enemy. We must keep searching for the killer; I am convinced the killer is that Chinese man, Wei Hua. Take care of your own safety!” Inu Taro showed his concern for his son.

“I understand, President! I’ll do as you say!” Inu Heiji hung up, exhaling deeply. Still, he didn’t believe Wei Hua was the killer. Why would Wei Hua suddenly target the Black Dragon Society? There had to be a reason. Was it simply because Wei Hua was Chinese? He felt that was a weak justification, but he had to do as the president ordered, and so began calling his subordinates in America.

Late at night, Wei Hua ran along a quiet path on the outskirts of Tokyo, the rushing wind exhilarating him. Only now did Wei Hua truly appreciate how powerful his body had become after continuous enhancements by the biological computer. He could easily leap more than ten meters high, cross thirty or forty meters in a single stride—by his own reckoning, he was now a martial arts master, able to walk rooftops as if they were level ground. Wei Hua’s target this time was Inu Heiji. Since Inu Taro had not panicked and the Black Dragon Society still operated normally, Wei Hua wanted to see how Inu Taro would react if his only son were killed. (His eldest son had died young.) Moreover, Wei Hua believed Inu Heiji held more information about the Black Dragon Society.

In the distance, a villa shone brightly. Inu Heiji had been hiding there for several days. Tonight, his men had brought him several beautiful actresses, and he was indulging himself with them, drinking and reveling. Around two in the morning, everyone in the villa had retired to bed, except for the patrolling guards. With his exceptional skills, Wei Hua silently slipped into Inu Heiji’s bedroom. On a large bed, Inu Heiji and four actresses lay naked together, sleeping like the dead. Wei Hua knocked the four women unconscious and set them aside, then began using his “Soul Capture Technique” on Inu Heiji. He wanted to know where Inu Taro and Takematsu Mokuhira would hide if things turned dire. Inu Heiji actually knew many of their secrets, including their ultimate hiding places. Wei Hua also learned that the true master behind the Black Dragon Society was Senator Goro Mori and a group of politicians.
