Chapter 132, Chapter 129: National Security
"What?!" Dian Ling was stunned. She hurriedly took the red document and scanned it. This single glance was enough to make her complexion shift several times. She stared in astonishment at the red credential. While studying at the Public Security Academy, she had heard rumors from Zhongnanhai bodyguards about a clandestine unit within the central government capable of commanding the elements—a force regarded as the guardian deity of China. She never expected to encounter them in person today! Dian Ling hurriedly took a few sips of tea to mask her shock. Setting down her cup, she said with forced composure, "Ye Chen is a murderer. Without proper paperwork, we absolutely cannot release him!"
The two men in black exchanged a look. One of them placed a silver briefcase on the table and opened it. The man in sunglasses took out a file folder and handed it to Dian Ling. "These are the release papers. Have a look."
Dian Ling nervously opened the file and pulled out a sheet of white paper. It bore Ye Chen's photograph and was stamped with the seal of the State Council. Dian Ling was shocked once more. She took the opportunity to scan Ye Chen's resume, but it contained only a few simple lines; the experience section was completely blank. Disappointed, she set the file down and said, "Since these are the proper procedures, then release him."
Dian Ling immediately ordered her assistant to bring Ye Chen over.
"Gentlemen, I... may I ask you a few questions?" Dian Ling asked, filled with curiosity.
"As long as it does not involve national secrets or national security, you may," the two men nodded.
"I... may I know the codename of your organization?" Dian Ling swallowed hard. She had always heard that China possessed such an elite force, the guardians of the nation's safety, known to the world as the protectors of the country. Yet, no one had ever been able to correctly name them. She was immensely curious.
The two men exchanged glances. The man in sunglasses smiled faintly and said, "To the outside world, our organization is known as the China Dragon Group."
"Dragon Group!" Dian Ling's eyes widened. It was a truly imposing name. "China Dragon Group"—it perfectly embodied the spirit of the dragon of the Chinese nation; every person selected was an elite among dragons. Dian Ling excitedly asked, "Then... what is special about the Dragon Group?"
"I apologize, that cannot be disclosed," the man shook his head immediately.
"Very well, I won't ask that," Dian Ling said, changing the subject. "Let me ask about Ye Chen. What did he do in the past? Why does he have amnesia?"
"We don't know," the two men replied, shaking their heads in unison. Throughout the exchange, they sat perfectly straight, never even touching the tea in front of them. As members of the Dragon Group, they prioritized vigilance; in any environment, they were never allowed to consume anything whose safety had not been verified.
Before long, Ye Chen was brought in. He had assumed that Dian Ling was going to assign him some task. To his surprise, upon entering the office, he saw the two men in black and immediately sensed their immense power. Their combat capability was easily on par with the Four Great Killers under the General. Ye Chen walked over, his expression grave and alert.
"Warden, did you need me for something?" Ye Chen asked immediately.
"Hmph, Ye Chen, congratulations. You are free," Dian Ling said with a light huff.
Ye Chen blinked, looking at the two men. They stood up from the sofa and asked, "Are you Ye Chen?"
"I am," Ye Chen nodded.
"Please come with us," the two said with a faint smile. "You have been released."
"Alright, let me go pack my things," Ye Chen realized these must be people sent by Sister Yan. He didn't think too much, turned around to gather his belongings, and followed the two men out. Dian Ling accompanied them all the way, whispering into Ye Chen's ear, "Hmph, you jerk, are you happy now?"
"Heaven is my witness!" Ye Chen shook his head immediately. "I'd rather stay in prison. In there, I have premium Da Hong Pao tea to drink, lackeys to hang out with, and I can tease the beautiful warden. What a life! It's a pity I've been acquitted."
"Hmph, I suppose you have a conscience," Dian Ling muttered, her face flushing. She thought to herself, *What am I doing? This jerk is leaving, what does it matter to me?* She walked him all the way to the prison gate, where a black Buick business van was waiting. She leaned close to Ye Chen's ear and whispered, "Remember to come visit me often, and your two lackeys. I know you're no ordinary person, hehe..."
"Uh..." Ye Chen was taken aback, then grinned. "Haha, take good care of Rat and Shrimp for me. If possible, let them take my place; I believe they would be quite willing!"
"You jerk, you don't even forget to have your own people take your place when you leave!" Dian Ling scolded.
Ye Chen hopped into the car with the two men, and it sped off toward the downtown area of Jianghuai City. Dian Ling waved at the retreating vehicle, only turning to leave once it had completely disappeared at the end of the road.
Back in the prison, Rat and Shrimp, having learned of Ye Chen's departure, were discussing whether to find an opportunity to leave themselves. However, they received word from Ye Chen instructing them to stay in the prison and help Dian Ling manage the thousand-plus inmates, ensuring that Zhang Dadan didn't get any ideas. Upon receiving his orders, they immediately abandoned the thought of escaping.
The black Buick took Ye Chen to a luxury hotel, where they entered the elevator from the back, heading straight to the top floor and a suite with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The man in sunglasses knocked, and the door opened. Sister Yan stood there wearing a floor-length gown, her bare back revealing smooth, flawless skin. Her full, proud breasts were supported by a thin piece of black gauze, and the cleavage between them was incredibly alluring.
"Gulp..." Ye Chen swallowed hard. A glimmer of delight flashed in Sister Yan's eyes. The man in sunglasses said respectfully, "Sister Yan, I've brought him."
"Mm, you may leave," Sister Yan waved her hand.
The two men retreated immediately, leaving Ye Chen alone with Sister Yan. Watching the sexy and enchanting woman, Ye Chen felt his heart race, a wave of desire surging in his gut. Sister Yan turned around and smiled, "Come in, you little rascal. Look how greedy you are!"
Sister Yan turned, her shapely hips swaying, the black gauze dress leaving little to the imagination. Ye Chen embarrassedly noticed a "tent" forming in his trousers. He hurried inside, tail tucked, trying to hide his awkward situation. Sister Yan stretched lazily and sat on a moon-shaped chair. She pointed to a stool in front of her and said, "Sit down, you little rascal."
"This... that..." Ye Chen swallowed again. "Sister Yan, I... I thank you for getting me out!"
"Mm, it's nothing," Sister Yan waved her hand, her red lips parting in a smile that revealed eight white teeth. Her face was so delicate that Ye Chen dared not guess her age; she looked younger than her mature demeanor suggested. Ye Chen asked a nonsensical question: "Sister Yan, how... how old are you this year?"
*Pfft.*
Sister Yan covered her mouth, laughing until she almost shed tears. She looked at Ye Chen, amused. "You little rascal, don't you know a woman's age is a secret? Why don't you guess?"
"If I had to say, Sister Yan is at most twenty," Ye Chen declared, holding up two fingers with conviction. Sister Yan burst into laughter again, her body trembling so much that her breasts seemed ready to spill from the gauze. Ye Chen couldn't tear his eyes away. When she finally caught her breath, her fair face flushed a delicate pink. She looked at him and said, "You little rascal, I didn't expect you to be so good at making people laugh. With you around, I might live ten years longer!"
"Hehe, how about I stay by your side from now on?" Ye Chen decided to climb the ladder while he could; flattery was cheap, and he could always forget it tomorrow. He flashed a smile.
"Hmph, are you trying to take advantage of me?" Sister Yan scoffed, pretending to be angry before breaking into a smile again. She looked at him and asked, "What do you plan to do in Jianghuai City?"
"I don't know. For now, I plan to help Li Ruo develop that plot of land in the East District," Ye Chen grinned. "A person must keep their word. Since I promised her, I must help."
"Mm, that's good," Sister Yan smiled, taking a sip of coffee. "Little Ruo mentioned you have amnesia. I have a friend who is an excellent psychologist; she can help recover lost memories. Would you like to try?"
"Really?" Ye Chen was startled, then overjoyed. *Damn it,* he had been dying to recover his memory, to know who he was, who he knew, and why he had appeared in that hellhole, the Golden Triangle, for no reason. Sister Yan nodded. "Of course it's real."
"Forget it," Ye Chen shook his head immediately.
