Chapter 147: It's All Shen Yijue!
Mo Qi waited in strict readiness. The small door on the massive warehouse gate rattled for a long time, yet no one entered.
"Click!" After quite a while, the small door was finally pushed open just enough to reveal a gap the size of a lower leg.
Mo Qi frowned and looked over, only to see the little wolf limping in clumsily, dragging its injured hind leg.
"Awooo! Awooo!" Upon seeing Mo Qi, the wolf's deep green eyes lit up. It bounded over joyfully and rubbed against her ankles.
Mo Qi never expected the intruder to be the little wolf.
"Little one, how did you track me down? It's dangerous here, you need to leave quickly."
"Wuwu." The little wolf ignored her, lifting its head to let out a low whimper as it stared at Mo Qi.
"Are you here to rescue me?" Mo Qi asked tentatively.
The little wolf glanced at her, then dragged its injured hind leg in anxious circles around her.
Rather than sitting here passively and awaiting her fate, she might as well take a gamble. A bold idea flashed through Mo Qi's mind.
"Little one, I'm going to fall over. How about you help me chew through the rope on my wrists?"
"Au!" The little wolf actually stopped, squatting down beside her to watch, seemingly waiting for her to fall.
Mo Qi gritted her teeth. *So what if it hurts when I hit the ground?* She took a slow, deep breath, exerted sudden force with her waist and hips, and threw herself sideways. The chair tied firmly to her body slammed onto the floor with a loud thud.
"Damn it!" Mo Qi sucked in a sharp breath of pain. The entire half of her body that slammed against the floor felt almost numb from the impact.
"Awooo." The little wolf trotted over and gently licked her face, as if trying to comfort her.
"Hiss! Little one, chew through the rope first." Both her head and body ached terribly, but she had to push through it now.
"Awo!" The wolf scrambled around to Mo Qi's back, using its teeth to pull at the rope binding her wrists. It was very careful, making sure its sharp teeth didn't bite Mo Qi.
While the little wolf tugged at the rope, Mo Qi twisted her wrists back and forth, up and down.
"It's loosening!" Feeling the rope around her wrists give way, Mo Qi hurriedly rotated her arm and finally wrenched her right hand free from the bindings.
With one hand out, freeing the other was much easier.
Mo Qi used her right hand to untie the rope on her left, finally gaining her freedom.
"Little one, thank you." Mo Qi picked up the little wolf and gave it an affectionate kiss.
"Awooo." The little wolf leaned in and licked the blood on the edge of Mo Qi's ear, looking somewhat distressed and sorrowful.
"Don't worry, it doesn't hurt as much anymore." Mo Qi cradled the little wolf, gently pinching its ears. Catching sight of a small room attached to the warehouse out of the corner of her eye, she said, "Let's go take a look."
Mo Qi walked over and pushed open the half-ajar wooden door of the small room. Even though she was mentally prepared and had a rough guess whose posters and photographs would be plastered inside, seeing it with her own eyes still made her hold her breath in shock.
The entire room was extremely cramped, measuring barely over ten square meters. Yet in this tiny space, the ceiling, the walls, and the single bed were completely covered with various posters and photographs of Shen Yijue.
Furthermore, many of the photos were clearly cut out from movie promotional posters, with the edges trimmed meticulously.
As Mo Qi stepped into the room, a pungent odor immediately hit her face. It was hard to describe what it smelled like—it felt like rust mixed with some fishy, turbid fluid.
Frowning, Mo Qi walked over to the small bed. A folded quilt lay upon it, suggesting that the nurse likely came here to stay overnight from time to time.
Blocked by the quilt earlier, she hadn't noticed it, but now that she was closer, she saw a doll bearing Shen Yijue's face tucked behind the bedding. Mo Qi placed the little wolf on the bed and bent down to pick up the doll.
This must have been one of those miniature human dolls used in hospitals to study acupoints; having Shen Yijue's picture pasted onto it gave it an indescribably eerie vibe.
"Aw, aw!" The little wolf dragged a small bag out from under the corner of the bed with its teeth.
"What's in there?" Mo Qi asked.
The little wolf looked at the bag, then back at Mo Qi, tilting its head with a bewildered expression.
Mo Qi picked up the bag, unzipped it, and instantly frowned.
The bag was filled with specialized items women used for self-pleasure. Most disgusting of all, these objects also had cut-out photos of Shen Yijue plastered all over them.
This could no longer be considered the behavior of a crazy fan; it was the mark of a perverted psychopath harboring an intensely obsessive desire to possess Shen Yijue.
Right now, she might only dare to comfort herself using Shen Yijue's image, but if this was left unchecked, sooner or later she would do something harmful to him.
"Au." Seeming to sense the anger burning inside Mo Qi, the little wolf worriedly trotted over and rubbed against her arm, half in comfort and half in question.
"I'm fine, good boy." Mo Qi zipped the bag back up and put it in its original place, her narrowed eyes flashing with a cold glint.
She absolutely could not let this woman continue down this path!
Mo Qi patted her pockets—her phone was gone, just as expected.
"Without a phone, how am I supposed to call the police?" Mo Qi frowned in deep thought, feeling a bit troubled.
"Au!" The little wolf barked, jumped off the single bed, and sprinted outside.
"Little one!" Mo Qi rushed to the warehouse door, but the little wolf had already slipped out. Her current situation was indeed perilous, so it was probably for the best that the little wolf was safe outside.
Mo Qi reached out and tugged at the iron chain securing the small door. No wonder the little guy could only squeeze through a narrow gap; the chain was tied tightly and secured with two heavy locks that were completely impossible to pick.
As Mo Qi scanned the entire warehouse, pondering how to get out and call the police, the little wolf returned. This time, it was biting down on the phone she had thrown away earlier.
This truly came as an unexpected pleasant surprise!
The little wolf dropped the phone at Mo Qi's feet, sat on its haunches, and looked up at her.
"Little one, you're amazing." Mo Qi affectionately rubbed the little wolf's head to praise it before picking up the phone to check. The remaining battery was low, but it would be enough to make a call.
Mo Qi dialed Xiao Zhang's number directly, and the call connected before even a single ringing tone could finish.
"Hello, Mo Qi, where are you?"
"Brother Xiao Zhang, I was abducted and locked inside an abandoned textile warehouse. I don't know the exact location."
"What?!" Xiao Zhang was alarmed. "Are you hurt? I'll notify people to search for you immediately."
"Brother Xiao Zhang, don't worry, I'm fine," Mo Qi said. "The person who kidnapped me is that temporary nurse hired by the crew. You can find me by having someone tail her. Also, her mental state is somewhat unstable, so you must not startle her or provoke her."
"It's actually her?!" Xiao Zhang exclaimed. "She just came back to the crew and is currently helping check on the injured staff."
"Yes, just keep an eye on her." Mo Qi thought for a moment and instructed, "Brother Xiao Zhang, ask Director Tang to notify the Changile County police. Then follow her to the warehouse, and wait for my signal before coming in."
"Alright, I know what to do," Xiao Zhang replied.
"Okay, I'm hanging up now, my battery is running low."
"Take care of yourself."
After ending the call, Xiao Zhang hesitated for a while before finding Shen Yijue's number and dialing it.
Mo Qi definitely wouldn't want Brother Shen to know about what had just happened, but without notifying him, Xiao Zhang felt uneasy.
The ringing went on until it stopped without being answered.
Xiao Zhang sighed. Since fate willed it this way, he wouldn't tell Brother Shen after all.
Just as Xiao Zhang was about to put his phone away, the ringtone suddenly blared.
The sudden sound startled him. Glancing at the caller ID, it was none of other than Shen Yijue himself.
