Chapter 156: Rescuing Shadowless 13
Luo Xia racked her brains without coming up with a good solution.
Just then, Pang Qingyu and her brother arrived.
They had successfully shaken off Patriarch Luo and his granddaughter.
The siblings admired Luo Xia even more now, never expecting that she could locate the spider cave so quickly after engineering her disappearance right before everyone's eyes.
"Brother Pang, you're here?" Luo Xia greeted with a smile.
Pang Xiaoyu smiled back at her. "We are late, please forgive us, Miss Luo."
"Brother Pang, what are you saying? Your arrival is just in time. Hurry and examine the defensive barrier at the entrance of this cave to see if there's any way to break through it."
Pang Qingyu proudly declared, "Luo Xia, you've really asked the right person. My brother is the smartest man in the Heavenly Blessing Country; a mere defensive barrier like this is an absolute breeze for him."
What Pang Qingyu said was entirely true!
For Pang Xiaoyu to design such a complete and flawless defense system at such a young age—though he occasionally acted a bit eccentric at times—was already remarkably impressive.
One had to realize that some people lived for hundreds of years without ever being able to design a single system.
Luo Xia smiled. "That's great then."
That way, all she needed to do was figure out how to set traps.
A culinary temptation?
She wondered if these spiders ate food, though considering they were almost spirits by now, they probably did, right?
Thinking of this, Luo Xia entered Wealth-Gathering's spatial dimension and proceeded to make snake soup and bear paws.
She had to admit that Wealth-Gathering was truly a foodie; not only did it dig out the inner cores of these beasts, but it didn't even let their physical bodies go to waste!
The little fellow must have wanted her to roast the meat for it to eat, right?
What an unadulterated little foodie!
"It smells so good—"
A soft voice sounded.
Luo Xia looked toward the source of the voice and saw it was none other than the Spring-Eye Vessel.
This fellow had originally shamelessly insisted on following Shadowless, only to be forced by Shadowless to follow her instead. Ever since then, it had no choice but to live inside Wealth-Gathering's spatial dimension.
Wealth-Gathering actually treated it quite well, digging a lake for it to cultivate in and planting nine rank-up spiritual herbs by the lakeside.
"Do you want to eat some too?" Luo Xia asked.
"Master, I have lived for two thousand years, and I have truly never tasted food before."
Two thousand years?
In the modern world, this fellow would definitely be considered an ancient antique!
"Could it be that you want to eat?"
"I want to have a taste. For the past two thousand years, this is the first time I've ever felt an appetite. If you want to blame someone, blame the fact that the food you cooked smells too wonderful, Master. Please, pour some snake soup into the lake for me to taste."
Luo Xia ladled up a bowl of snake soup and brought it to her nose to sniff. "It really does smell amazing."
With that, she flicked a single drop of soup into the lake—
A ripple spread across the calm surface of the lake, the spiritual Qi within the water grew even denser, and a faint white light enveloped the Spring-Eye Vessel—
"Master, pour the whole bowl in!"
The Spring-Eye Vessel was overjoyed. It never imagined that delicious food could also aid its cultivation; it had been stuck at a bottleneck for a very long time. Now, it sensed a trace of loosening and intended to leverage this momentum to break through!
Luo Xia played with the bowl in her hand. "Wanting to eat delicious food is not entirely out of the question..."
"Master, please hurry up, you're driving me crazy..." Unsure of what trick Luo Xia was playing, the Spring-Eye Vessel was so anxious it nearly flew over to snatch the food itself.
"You've lived for two thousand years, you should know how to deal with ninth-rank spiders, right?" Luo Xia asked with a sly smile, her tone casual.
"You guys just want to lure them out, right? What's so difficult about that..."
At this point, the Spring-Eye Vessel choked and stopped talking.
"Go on," Luo Xia coaxed with a smile.
The Spring-Eye Vessel pleaded, "Master, let me break through first. I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time."
"Speak first," Luo Xia refused to budge.
The Spring-Eye Vessel felt like crying without tears. This master of hers was far too stingy! It was merely begging for a bowl of snake soup, was there any need to go this far?
