A distinct, peculiar scent wafted through the air. The large wolves, previously intent on tearing Pang Qingyu apart, were instantly captivated by the smell. It was precisely this scent that had drawn them to gather in such numbers, and now that it was within their reach, there was no way they would let it go.

Luo Xia swiftly scattered fragments into the distance, then sprinted to Pang Qingyu’s side. Pang had sustained severe internal injuries, and her leg had been crushed by the weight of a wolf. Luo Xia released Zhaocai and quickly smeared medicinal powder onto the creature. "Zhaocai, open the spatial dimension! Let me and Miss Pang inside!"

Zhaocai was extremely reluctant. This Miss Pang had been attacking its mistress the entire journey, yet here was the mistress, kindly saving her life.

"Time is of the essence, Zhaocai! Hurry and take us to find Wuying, or we’ll all be dead!"

Luo Xia had considered trying to slaughter the pack while they were distracted by the lure-herb, but she knew it was unrealistic; otherwise, they would just end up being chased to the ends of the earth. The only way to survive was to locate Wuying as quickly as possible.

Zhaocai glared viciously at Pang Qingyu. "You really are absurdly lucky!"

Once inside Zhaocai’s space, Luo Xia immediately began setting Pang Qingyu’s broken bone.

"Ah—!"

With a sharp crunch, Pang Qingyu let out a cry, tears streaming down her face from the agony.

"Do you even know what you're doing? You're killing me!" Pang Qingyu accused her angrily. Her beautiful face was streaked with tears; though she looked fierce, she also appeared quite pathetic.

Luo Xia chuckled. "Try walking."

"Walk? I can walk?" Pang Qingyu was skeptical. It still hurt so much, and besides, Luo Xia wasn't a master healer—how could she possibly set a bone?

"Even though it still hurts a bit, you really can walk," Luo Xia said, standing up with a smile.

It was only then that Pang Qingyu noticed Zhaocai’s space. She knew nothing of herbs, but she could tell that these were priceless treasures. She narrowed her eyes, studying Luo Xia once more, and realized that beneath the girl’s ordinary exterior lay something extraordinary. After all, for someone without a shred of spiritual power to rescue her from a wolf pack required immense wisdom.

If word of this got out, she would be mortified. She had promised Brother Wuying she would protect Luo Xia, yet it had ended up the other way around. It was humiliating! She felt like hitting her head against a block of tofu or hanging herself from a spiderweb.

Wait—wasn't that the herb Luo Xia had dug up earlier? It was missing a leaf. Had she used that very leaf to lure the wolves away? Pang Qingyu walked over to the lure-herb. "What is this?"

Luo Xia smiled. "So, Miss Pang is interested in it now?"

Pang Qingyu looked at her dangerously. "Luo Xia, it’s one thing that you have no talent, but you actually possess a spatial spirit beast, and this place is filled with priceless treasures. Aren't you afraid I’ll kill you to steal them?"

Luo Xia remained calm and smiling. "You won't."

Pang Qingyu squinted. "What makes you so sure?"

Luo Xia pointed to her leg. "Does it still hurt?"

Pang Qingyu realized then that she was walking with ease. She couldn't help but admire Luo Xia even more, though she was too proud to show it.

"Are you an alchemist?" Pang Qingyu asked.

Luo Xia burst into laughter. "Do I look like one?"

She didn't look like one at all. The requirements for becoming an alchemist were far too stringent, and she lacked spiritual power entirely.

"It must have been pure luck," Pang Qingyu declared.

Luo Xia laughed. "Just good luck."

"Good luck my foot! Mistress, five wolves are tracking us!"
