Chapter 112: Lu Zhe in Danger! A Joint Strike from Everyone
"Senior Brother, are you truly going to use the 'Spear of Shattering Lightning'?" the robust man, addressed as the Fifth Junior Brother, asked with palpable uncertainty after hearing the middle-aged man's words.
The middle-aged man furrowed his brows and gave a heavy nod.
"But, if you use this technique alone, wouldn't it be too taxing for you?" the robust man hesitated, his voice laced with worry.
The middle-aged man let out a hearty laugh, seemingly unconcerned. He looked back at his anxious Fifth Junior Brother and said, "Rest assured, I never said I would be using this technique alone."
"That’s right, Fifth Senior Brother, you have me," a voice suddenly interjected. It came from a man who had remained silent since the beginning.
The robust man glanced at the man standing behind the Third Senior Brother, frowning as if he did not fully trust him.
"Haha, Fifth Senior Brother, you and I can go into battle with peace of mind. Besides, our Eighth Junior Brother’s lightning-attribute spiritual power is nothing to scoff at," said the man named Zhuo Feng as he stepped forward with a smile. He turned to the younger man behind him, patted his shoulder with the air of an elder brother delegating a task, and said, "Eighth Junior Brother, Seventh Senior Brother and I will go to hold off that monster. You stay here with Third Senior Brother and prepare the 'Spear of Shattering Lightning.' Understood?"
The young man looked at Zhuo Feng, pondered for a moment, and replied, "Understood. Seventh Senior Brother, please be careful."
"I will." Zhuo Feng gave the young man’s shoulder a brisk pat, offered a faint smile, and nodded.
He glanced at the two men standing nearby, then turned his gaze toward Lu Zhe, who stood ahead of them. Taking a deep breath, he said, "Let’s go, Fifth Senior Brother."
"Both of you, remember—be careful!" their Third Senior Brother called out, unable to hide his lingering concern as the two walked toward Lu Zhe.
The two turned back, and Zhuo Feng flashed a playful grin at the Third Senior Brother—little did he know, this would be his final smile.
"Let's move, Fifth Senior Brother," Zhuo Feng said in a low voice.
With a flick of his shoulders, a pair of cyan wings, three feet wide and ten feet long, sprouted from his back. With a single beat, he soared into the air.
Watching Zhuo Feng ascend, the robust man took a deep breath and clenched his fists. Ribbons of silvery-white, icy energy began to swirl around his hands.
Looking up at the airborne Zhuo Feng, the robust man called out, "Junior Brother, let’s go."
"Right!" Zhuo Feng responded from above, then beat his wings and dove toward Lu Zhe.
Following Zhuo Feng’s charge, the robust man on the ground also lunged toward Lu Zhe.
The middle-aged man nodded slightly as he watched them charge. He turned to the Ninth Junior Brother, who was watching the battle, and said, "Alright, Ninth Junior Brother, it is time for us to unleash the 'Spear of Shattering Lightning'!"
"Understood," the young man nodded.
The middle-aged man quickly performed a series of hand seals, his hands moving in strange patterns before him as if drawing in the air. He chanted under his breath while he gestured. A moment later, he exerted force with both hands; his left hand supported his right forearm, while his right hand, fingers splayed and outstretched, reached forward until his arm was fully extended. Soon, a tiny, glowing blue sphere appeared in his palm—an orb that was small, beautiful, and emitted a faint azure light.
Suddenly, several streams of blue light manifested around the orb, spiraling like a vortex and pouring into it. As the light flowed in, the delicate sphere began to grow, reaching the size of a ping-pong ball in no time.
As the sphere expanded, the middle-aged man’s chest heaved and he coughed, though he quickly regained his composure.
Seeing the middle-aged man’s distress, the young man furrowed his brows. He quickly performed a seal, and moments later, several arcs of lightning the thickness of a finger wrapped around his arms. He nodded, stepped behind the middle-aged man, and pressed his arms against the man's back with a thud. The lightning arcs surged from the young man’s arms into the middle-aged man.
Once the young man made contact, the blue sphere in the middle-aged man’s palm began to expand rapidly. When it grew slightly larger than a ping-pong ball, the middle-aged man curled his fingers and gripped it. Moments later, a blue-glowing rod extended from both sides of his palm, stretching outward until it was over a foot long, with the clear potential to grow further.
While they prepared the "Spear of Shattering Lightning," the other two reached Lu Zhe. They attacked from left and right, high and low. Suddenly, the robust man, his hands wreathed in icy energy, shouted to Zhuo Feng, "Seventh Junior Brother, distract him from the air! I will take the opportunity to seal his limbs."
"Understood!" Zhuo Feng replied from above. He beat his wings violently, accelerating and descending slightly. Eyeing Lu Zhe, Zhuo Feng clenched his right fist, where a breeze began to swirl. His eyes turned cold. "Monster, I will avenge the leg injury you dealt to our Ninth Junior Brother!" With that, he threw a punch at Lu Zhe.
The fist whistled through the air, but just as it was about to connect, a red hand suddenly caught it—it was Lu Zhe’s hand.
"What?" Zhuo Feng was shocked, but he was prepared. As his right hand was caught, he swung his left.
"Hah!" Lu Zhe let out a roar. Ignoring the incoming blow, he gripped Zhuo Feng’s right hand, spun around, and hurled him away with immense force.
Zhuo Feng tumbled through the air, his wings flapping frantically. He managed to stabilize himself not far away.
Hovering in the air, Zhuo Feng wiped the sweat from his brow and thought to himself, *Such immense strength... no wonder the Sixth Senior Brother couldn't seal him.*
"Hah!" Lu Zhe roared at the airborne Zhuo Feng and beat his wings to take flight, clearly intending to kill him.
But before he could rise three feet off the ground, his wings suddenly slowed. Deprived of their support, he dropped back to the earth. As his feet touched the ground, ice suddenly erupted beneath him. The ice gripped his feet, rooting him to the spot, and rapidly crept up to his knees.
"Hah!" Lu Zhe roared in fury. He tried to smash the ice with his hands, only to discover his arms were also frozen, as were his wings.
The ice spread with visible speed. In a matter of moments, Lu Zhe was encased from head to toe.
"ROAR!!!" Lu Zhe let out a heaven-shaking cry, but he remained motionless. He struggled to break free, but the ice was too thick.
"Fifth Junior Brother, Seventh Junior Brother, get out of the way!" The middle-aged man’s voice suddenly rang out from behind.
The two men scrambled to the side.
The middle-aged man now stood in a throwing stance, his right hand raised high, clutching a seven-foot-long blue spear. The weapon shimmered with silver and blue light, and fine strands of lightning crackled along its surface with a sharp, snapping sound. It looked incredibly sharp, as if it could pierce through anything.
"Hah!" The middle-aged man hurled the spear at Lu Zhe.
The lightning spear shot forward with the speed of a thunderbolt, leaving a blue trail in its wake. In the blink of an eye, it was upon Lu Zhe.
Just as the spear was about to pierce Lu Zhe’s chest, a white figure appeared as silently as a ghost before him...
