Chapter 99: The Dead Come Alive

“Cai Cai, do you want to go up and give it a try?” Shan Ziyao was young, but she had a determined heart for rebirth: the stunning discarded consort was destined to turn the world upside down. Even though she lacked medical skills, Ou Xinlai had just said that those two people were on the verge of death.

“What’s wrong?” Yu Mo Ran asked without turning around, sensing the change in Lan Bing’s mood.

“Nothing, Master,” Lan Bing quickly composed herself upon hearing Yu Mo Ran’s question. The master’s illness had just been cured by Ou Xinlai; she could not afford to be injured or cause trouble that would harm her.

“Hmm.” Yu Mo Ran nodded slightly but did not fully believe Lan Bing’s words. Having grown up by Yu Mo Ran’s side, it was impossible for Lan Bing’s emotions to be hidden from him.

But since Lan Bing was unwilling to speak, Yu Mo Ran did not press the matter.

Hearing the exchange between Lan Bing and Yu Mo Ran, Hei Yu furrowed his brows, naturally realizing that the situation was not as simple as Lan Bing claimed. Following Lan Bing’s gaze with the corner of his eye, Hei Yu also caught sight of Ou Xinlai.

Moreover, that woman had saved their master, but before doing so, she had made it clear that the master must never know of her intervention. She had only one condition: that they would never acknowledge each other if they met again, as complete strangers.

If Lan Bing continued to make things difficult for that woman, breaking their original promise, Hei Yu’s expression darkened.

On the competition stage, those two patients were indeed as Ou Xinlai had suspected—unable to hold on much longer. Before long, their eyes rolled back, and they weakly collapsed back into their chairs, breathing with difficulty. It was clear they were about to give out.

The people from the White (Forbidden) Tiger Kingdom frowned anxiously. Those two were the temporary patients they had brought in, thinking they could use them to pressure the Suzaku Kingdom.
