Chapter 014: The Weak Prevailing Over the Strong

When Ou Xinya and Ou Xinyu approached, Ou Xinlai’s gaze flickered guiltily. She grabbed Ou Jinjue and flung him straight toward Ou Xinya. Ou Xinya stepped back, catching a flash of fabric in front of her eyes, and before she could react, found herself in the same predicament as Ou Jinjue—her body had already been hurled through the air.

“Sorry, wrong person,” Ou Xinlai apologized lightly after throwing Ou Xinya. She immediately picked Ou Jinjue up again and hurled him toward Ou Xinya. This time, instead of grabbing Ou Jinjue’s collar, she seized Ou Xinya’s, and with another mighty swing, sent her flying once more. “Oops, my mistake again.”

At first, Ou Xinlai made an effort to cover up her acts. But soon after, she abandoned the pretense, using Ou Jinjue as her excuse just to “grab the wrong person,” tossing Ou Xinya again and again until she was utterly disoriented.

Ou Jinjue slowly recovered from his dizziness, then stared in disbelief as he watched Ou Xinlai “mistake” her target over and over, ruthlessly hurling Ou Xinya to the ground each time. He sucked in a sharp breath, unable to comprehend how he, too, had been completely powerless in Ou Xinlai’s grasp, just like Ou Xinya.

He was trained in external martial arts. Perhaps he’d been caught off guard the first time and Ou Xinlai had gained the advantage, leaving him no time to fight back. But Ou Xinya was an ability cultivator—how could she, in Ou Xinlai’s hands, be as helpless as a newborn chick, unable to resist in the slightest?

“Ou Xinya, was it you who discarded that flask of mercury in the Five Elements Feng Shui Ground?” As Ou Xinlai flung Ou Xinya around, she released a murderous aura. Though her time in the Ou family hadn’t been long, only Ou Xinyu and Ou Xinya had been so eager to see her dead.

Ou Xinyu, when it came down to it, was just a paper tiger—so naive she didn’t even realize when she was being used, nothing more than a living, breathing fool. The truly scheming one was Ou Xinya.

To evade the family’s surveillance and infiltrate the Five Elements Array so smoothly—Ou Xinlai couldn’t think of anyone else but Ou Xinya.

Ou Xinlai smiled, no longer wasting her strength. She dusted off her clothes and looked cheerfully at Ou Jinjue. “Ou Jinjue, I’m bullying the weak here, picking on those smaller than me. If you feel wronged, go ahead and complain—whatever I do, I own up to it. I’m no coward. If you’re not satisfied, you’re welcome to seek revenge. The same goes for you all—if you have a problem with me, come say it to my face. Maybe I’ll even give you an opportunity. But if I find out anyone tries to stab me in the back, this will be your fate!”

With that, Ou Xinlai grabbed Ou Xinya and stripped her of all her clothes. Her so-called “dear father” had already made his move—Ou Xinya could forget about getting away unscathed; that was nothing but a pipe dream.

As she drew near, Ou Xinlai caught the scent of medicinal wine on Ou Xinya. The one who had sabotaged the Five Elements Feng Shui site was undoubtedly Ou Xinya.

When the once pristine Ou Xinya was left with nothing but a pale green undergarment covering her, faint bluish marks were revealed on her exposed skin. Everyone in the Ou family recognized them—they were the marks left by the family head, Ou Chenfeng’s unique ability, the Light Orb.

The reason Ou Chenfeng could firmly hold the position of family head, despite having an unruly and untalented daughter like Ou Xinlai, was that his skills were truly formidable. No one could shake his authority, nor could anyone surpass him.

“Ou Xinya, don’t think you can get away with denying it,” Ou Xinlai said, tossing out a white cloth to bind Ou Xinya’s hands. With a flick, the other end looped over the eaves, and Ou Xinya was hoisted into the air.

“No way.” “She did it?” “I’d never have guessed…” Whispered conversations broke out among those who’d been drawn there by Ou Xinqing, upon seeing the evidence on Ou Xinya’s body. Few people had known that Ou Xinlai had entered the Five Elements Array herself, but news of the Feng Shui array’s destruction and Ou Xinlai’s peril within it had spread quickly through the family. After all, damaging the Five Elements Feng Shui Array would affect the family’s fortune—of course, the Ou family took it seriously.

At first, everyone speculated about who could have been bold enough to destroy the array. Some had even suspected outsiders. But now, realizing it was one of their own, all looked at Ou Xinya with contempt.
