Chapter 109: Ready to Begin
At noon, Yagyu accompanied Ren Xiadong to the hospital. Considering Ren Xiadong was the patient, Yagyu drove his own car.
“Yagyu’s here too? I thought Xiadong had gone off to practice boxing again. Seeing you here makes me feel relieved—you wouldn’t take Xiadong to any bad places,” Tian Yun said, initially ready to scold Ren Xiadong, but upon noticing Yagyu behind him, he changed his tone.
Afterwards, while urging Ren Xiadong to take his medicine, Tian Yun asked Yagyu, “I heard you two are starting a business? What kind of business exactly?”
Without hesitation, Yagyu replied, “An animation company. I’m planning to open one back in Haishi City. I’ll be shuttling between both places.”
“That’s great! Isn’t there a world-class animation master named Yagyu? Looks like you’ll become the second renowned Yagyu!” Tian Yun said excitedly. After all, it was his boyfriend joining Yagyu to start a company—naturally, he was thrilled.
Then Tian Yun asked again, “How much money will it cost?”
“Money isn’t the issue. The real challenge is making a profit,” Yagyu smiled.
“Tian General, you’re so generous; even your words sound different. Having money really gives you confidence—like you right now,” Tian Yun teased.
Yagyu pondered for a moment. Ren Xiadong had more money than he could ever spend in a lifetime. Seeing Tian Yun’s determination to be with Ren Xiadong, Yagyu hesitated to reveal all of Ren Xiadong’s background, fearing Tian Yun might not accept it.
“We’ll take it step by step. Actually, Ren Xiadong doesn’t want to keep pretending anymore,” Yagyu thought, then said to Tian Yun, “Alright, to be honest, I am the Yagyu you mentioned.”
“What?! You’re that world-class animation master Yagyu?” Tian Yun asked in disbelief, then looked at Ren Xiadong, seeking confirmation.
Ren Xiadong merely nodded.
Tian Yun was stunned for a moment before exclaiming, “My goodness, I’ve become friends with a world-class animation master!”
Yagyu sat down and continued, “Ren Xiadong is the vice president. When we started the Yagyu World Animation Company, we were just having fun, but it unexpectedly became wildly successful.”
Tian Yun looked at Ren Xiadong again and asked, “Are you hiding anything else from me?”
Ren Xiadong quickly glanced at Yagyu, who replied, “Not now. But in the future, we’ll definitely do better. We want to grow big and take advantage of being young to hustle.”
Tian Yun didn’t doubt Yagyu’s words but excitedly said, “You guys are really impressive.” Then he turned to Ren Xiadong, “No matter how busy you get, don’t forget about me. If I ever find out you have another woman, just see how I deal with you!”
Ren Xiadong gave Tian Yun a mischievous smile and said, “Can I be discharged now?”
“No way!”
“You can come to my place to take care of me. Staying at the hospital is the same as being at home, but hospital rooms are expensive,” Ren Xiadong suggested, knowing Tian Yun understood his little hint.
Tian Yun hesitated before asking, “Your place?”
Ren Xiadong proudly replied, “Of course. After all, I’m a vice president, the assistant to a world-class animation master. How could I not have a home?”
Then Tian Yun lowered his head awkwardly and whispered, “How am I supposed to take care of you at your place? Besides, a man and a woman living together—it’s a bit inappropriate.”
Yagyu, standing beside Tian Yun, interjected, “You’re overthinking. I live with him, and there are also two nannies and a chef.” Yagyu was getting tired of their flirting and added, “Let’s get him discharged now. He doesn’t seem to have any serious problems.”
Hearing this, Ren Xiadong gave Yagyu a grateful look, and Yagyu smiled back, knowing Ren Xiadong hated staying in hospitals.
Tian Yun began packing to leave, muttering, “Only Yagyu can help your future. That old Jiujiao is the worst, dragging you into dangerous situations.” Then he looked at Yagyu and said, “You can do whatever you want for your future, but you have to keep an eye on him. Don’t let him have other women!”
“I’ll handle the discharge paperwork,” Yagyu said without agreeing to Ren Xiadong, heading straight to the counter.
Tian Yun looked worried and glared at Ren Xiadong. “Do you have many women? If even Yagyu can’t control you!”
“What do you mean Yagyu can’t control me? How do I have many women?” Ren Xiadong was at a loss. He thought, “Women’s logic—I really can’t stand it!”
Tian Yun continued packing, saying, “Men with money always go bad. Rich men have many women. I said Yagyu can’t control you because I told him to watch you, and since he didn’t say anything, doesn’t that mean he can’t control you?”
Ren Xiadong was completely baffled, wondering how Tian Yun figured all that out. He said, “He did say something—he said he’s handling the discharge paperwork.”
Tian Yun finished packing, set his things aside, and said, “I don’t care what you were like before. Now that you have me, you need to keep yourself pure.”
Once Yagyu finished the paperwork, Ren Xiadong was discharged. When they arrived home and parked, Ren Xiadong quietly asked Yagyu, “What does ‘keep yourself pure’ mean?”
“Hm?” Yagyu was puzzled by the question.
“Tian Yun told me that after I’m with her, I need to keep myself pure,” Ren Xiadong said. Yagyu chuckled and replied, “It means don’t put all your eggs in one basket. If a suitable woman comes along, go for it!”
Ren Xiadong dragged the vowel, “Oh~,” nodding, then said, “Looks like Tian Yun is pretty open-minded. A good girl.”
Yagyu nodded repeatedly, saying, “You really have the brains for this.”
When they got home, Tian Yun was amazed in the living room downstairs. “Wow! Is this really your home?”
Ren Xiadong nodded, confirming Tian Yun’s impression.
“So big! How many floors?” Tian Yun asked in amazement.
Ren Xiadong showed three fingers then, looking at Yagyu, said, “The entire second floor is ours!”
Yagyu understood the meaning and said, “Got it! I’m moving back to the third floor right away!”
Not wasting time, Yagyu ran upstairs to his room on the second floor, packed his things, and moved to the third floor.
At eight in the evening, Yagyu drove to the shooting range and called his personal coach.
Soon, the coach arrived carrying a bag and asked, “Is five thousand rounds enough?”
Yagyu was stunned and after a moment said, “I thought you’d only bring a couple hundred rounds. I didn’t expect you to bring five thousand!”
“I’m giving you a deal—seven yuan per round. Cash or transfer?” The coach glanced around anxiously, not wanting to waste time.
“Transfer,” Yagyu answered. The coach handed him a card, saying, “Rich people always transfer.”
After Yagyu completed the transfer, the coach checked his phone’s message and said, “Five thousand rounds at seven yuan each—that’s thirty-five thousand. Why did you transfer fifty thousand?”
“The rest is a tip. If I need you again, I’ll come find you,” Yagyu said. The coach nodded and got off the car. Yagyu didn’t linger and headed home.
Back at home, Yagyu entered with the bag and called loudly, “Ren Xiadong, come with me!”
Ren Xiadong didn’t hesitate upon hearing Yagyu and followed him upstairs to the third floor.
In Yagyu’s room, he handed the bag to Ren Xiadong, who opened it and excitedly said, “You really are amazing. You can get anything!”
“Your injury’s healed, right?” Yagyu asked.
Ren Xiadong tapped his chest twice and replied, “What do you think? Strong as an ox!”
Yagyu smiled and continued, “Good. Now you have weapons and self-defense skills.”
“Do you have a plan yet?” Ren Xiadong asked the crucial question.
Yagyu said meaningfully, “If the person I’m waiting for doesn’t come to me, then I have no plan. More precisely, my plan is to adapt as things happen. It’s almost November—why hasn’t that person shown up?”
“Who?” Ren Xiadong asked again.
“Hu Ying!” Yagyu answered, then added, “Hu Yinghe has come to find me already. Why do you think Hu Ying hasn’t?”
Ren Xiadong shook his head, indicating he didn’t know.
“Because he’s short-sighted. Everyone knows we’re important, except him—he’s indifferent! If I join Hu Yinghe, Hu Yinghe will win. If I join Hu Ying, he also has a good chance. The other one, Hu Jie, just wants a carefree life and isn’t interested in the fight. But I chose Hu Yingqi, who has nothing,” Yagyu said with a bitter smile.
Ren Xiadong stood and said, “Because only Hu Yingqi can give you the greatest power. You want Hu Yingqi to win, so you’ll join Hu Jie to take down Hu Yinghe first, then help Hu Yingqi defeat Hu Ying.”
“Exactly! Hu Ying and his men are incompetent, just a bunch of scheming rodents. But I’ll use them to eliminate Hu Yinghe—the biggest threat. Once the toughest opponent is gone, someone like Hu Ying is no threat to me,” Yagyu explained.
After Yagyu finished, Ren Xiadong didn’t linger, walking out while saying, “Tian Yun just came to our place. I want to spend more time with her. And you have to protect me well. I don’t want to see Tian Yun hurt.”
After Ren Xiadong left, Yagyu thought, “I really regret dragging myself into this mess with you. But you’re my only ally. Don’t worry, for your and Tian Yun’s future happiness, even if it costs my life, I’ll protect you both.”
Yagyu then took out his phone and called Tang Xin, who was filming. But Tang Xin didn’t answer. Yagyu knew she was still upset with him.
Feeling irritated, Yagyu thought, “Is there anything more important than me? You can put me aside just to follow your own path?”
That night, Yagyu fell asleep in anger.
The next morning, Yagyu still didn’t go to school. Ren Xiadong took Tian Yun to school.
Aimlessly, Yagyu drove Ren Xiadong’s R8 sports car to Xiaoya’s flower shop.
“Welcome!” Xiaoya exclaimed upon hearing the door open.
Seeing it was Yagyu, she was first startled, then said, “You’ve known I run this shop all along. You were the one who called those people who bought 200,000 yuan worth of flowers last time, right?”
“Well, it was actually Ren Xiadong confessing...” Yagyu started, but Xiaoya, with a hint of joy, interrupted, “Oh, I thought it was you confessing to someone else.”
Yagyu noticed Xiaoya’s belly was bigger and asked, “Is it really this big after three months?”
“It’s four months now, due in March next year,” Xiaoya answered happily.
Yagyu felt uneasy but hid it and said, “It’s almost noon. Let me treat you to lunch.”
During lunch, Yagyu asked, “Has Yang He been better lately?”
Xiaoya shook her head while eating, “He hasn’t come home at all.”
Hearing this, Yagyu’s mind was filled with one thought: He must kill Yang He!
“Is he even a man? I’m going to find him!”
As Yagyu was about to stand, Xiaoya stopped him, “Forget it. He’s set in his ways and can’t be changed. As long as me and the baby are fine, I don’t care about anything else.”
Seeing Yagyu’s anger, Xiaoya smiled and said, “After all this time, you still treat me well. Let’s take a photo together—for a keepsake.”
Yagyu and Xiaoya took a selfie, and she sent the photo to him.
Before leaving, Yagyu returned a watch Xiaoya had previously given back.
“You said it was for a keepsake,” Yagyu said. Xiaoya hesitated, then accepted the watch, saying, “I’ll cherish it.”
