The sun set, and the dark, chilly veil of night descended upon the forest as scheduled. Only the lights spilling from within the manor stood out, dispelling the night like a faint halo of their own.

Returning to the manor, Kyle sat in the chair of the master's office on the second floor. Yutong stood obediently by his side, using her mind to make a bottle of red wine levitate above the desk. The bottle tilted and poured wine into a goblet without a single drop splashing outside.

"What's the situation outside?" Taking a gentle sip of his wine, Kyle stroked Yutong's smooth, long black hair and asked.

"Within a hundred meters of the manor, nearly thirty people are hiding in the forest, and there should be more beyond that range," Yutong answered softly, squinting her eyes comfortably like a cat.

"I suppose they're running out of patience," Kyle chuckled, tapping his fingers rhythmically on the desk.

*Tap, tap, tap...*

Like the pendulum of a countdown clock, the rhythmic tapping abruptly ceased. Yutong widened her bright, watery eyes slightly and raised her voice, "They're coming!"

No sooner had the words left her lips than a continuous series of explosive sounds echoed outside the manor. A dozen rocket-propelled grenades trailing shrill whistles shattered the balcony windows, hurtling into the room. Just as they were about to detonate, they suddenly froze in mid-air.

*Buzz!*

Still spewing flames and smoke from their tails, the rocket shells that had charged into the office came to a complete standstill, trembling as they hovered in the indoor air, blocked out of nowhere by some mysterious force.

"Returning these to you." With silver light flashing in her eyes, Yutong waved her small hand, and the shells spun around in unison, rocketing back along the exact trajectories from which they had been launched, and vanished into the night outside the manor.

Immediately afterward, the roaring blasts of the exploding bombs resonated outside, stirring the curtains with the shockwaves, which vaguely carried the screams of numerous people.

This was like the opening salvo of tonight's war; the assault broke out instantly!

Knowing they had been exposed, the joint forces outside tasked with assassinating Kyle charged out of the forest, densely swarming to breach the manor's main building.

*Bang!*

The manor's front door, possessing low defensive strength, was smashed open in a single blow by a high-explosive grenade. Smoke grenades were thrown inside for cover, and dozens of armed men dressed in black tactical gear, wielding either swords or firearms, aggressively forced their way in.

Hearing the massive commotion from downstairs, Kyle remained unmoved, leaning back in his chair with a calm expression. He raised his goblet and gently sipped his red wine, savoring and enjoying the moment.

Yutong had no intention of moving downstairs either. With her eyes closed, she relied entirely on her willpower to scan and stay alert for any enemy attacks originating from the second floor.

The second floor was her combat domain. As for the ground floor—

"Aah! Ahh!!"

"What kind of monsters are these!?"

"Quickly, kill him..."

The explosions of the thrown grenades, the densely intertwined gunfire, and the harrowing, miserable screams began and showed no signs of stopping, traveling from the ground-floor lobby through the floorboards and office door straight into Kyle's ears.

"Logan's body had adamantium implanted into it not long ago; it's just the right time for him to sharpen his claws." Gently swirling his goblet, Kyle wore an indifferent expression, like a demon accustomed to battle, life, and death, drinking his blood-red wine while a slaughterstorm raged downstairs.

At this moment, in the ground-floor lobby of the manor.

The luxurious large glass chandelier swayed incessantly, casting a hazy, shifting light through the smoke-filled room. A dozen dismembered corpses lay scattered in pools of blood.

The fatal wounds on the bodies were mostly concentrated on the necks and chests—simple, direct, and essentially killing blows.

Amidst the fierce gunfire and screams, more members of the joint forces who had broken into the manor fell dead one after the other onto the red-carpeted floor.

"What is going on here? Was it that man who made a move?" Sweat the size of soybeans streamed into the eye sockets of a tall white-skinned man. He didn't dare blink, gripping his assault rifle tightly, which gleamed with a dark metallic luster.

As the squad leader for this mission to assassinate Kyle, a member of the Hydra organization, he was also the leader of the frontal assault on the manor's defenses.

This temporary surprise attack targeted the "Symbol of Peace." Composed mainly of Hydra remnants, the secret joint operation also included elite operatives from the Soviet Red Room and samurai and ninja from the Japanese ninja organization.

Every member was an expert in assault tactics! Yet, having just broken into the ground floor of the manor, they were subjected to a one-sided massacre by a single enemy...

"Symbol of Peace, is that you? Come out here!" The squad leader roared while slowly retreating to rally the team near the manor's front door.

"You scumbags, are you even worthy of the master making a move?"

Accompanied by a cold snort, a grizzled middle-aged man with a crew cut rushed out from the smoke. His body generated a fierce gale as he moved at high speed, dispersing the smoke. Ignoring everyone else, he pressed forward relentlessly toward the squad leader alone.

"He's come out! Open fire!" Instead of panicking, the squad leader was overjoyed. With a ferocious laugh, he pulled the trigger hard, and the muzzle of his rifle continuously spewed fire.

The dozen or so armed men around him reacted with extreme speed, aiming their weapons at Logan and firing simultaneously, instantly creating a hail of bullets.

With a cold smile, Logan showed no intention of retreating. Like a reckless brawler who feared nothing, he lunged forward directly into the storm of bullets. While airborne, three sharp, gleaming metal claws extended from each of his blood-stained fists.

Taking countless bullets straight to his chest, Logan charged right up to the squad leader, whose ferocious grin was just turning into astonishment. With a flash akin to a blade's gleam, the claws swept smoothly downward. The scorching barrel of the assault rifle and the squad leader's neck were sliced cleanly across, severing them cruelly into two halves.

Gritting his teeth, Logan let out a beast-like growl. The bullets that had just embedded themselves in his flesh were rapidly squeezed out by his muscle control, falling to the floor with loud clatter. The bullet holes in his body healed completely before even a drop of blood could flow.

"Another one... another bulletproof monster..."

Someone drew in a sharp breath and muttered those words, while despair filled the eyes of the joint forces in the ground-floor lobby.

Meanwhile, in the second-floor office.

Yutong opened her eyes with a sense of realization. Three figures dressed entirely in black, each carrying a Japanese sword on their back, ghosted swiftly through the shattered glass balcony into the room.

The man leading the ninja squad had fluttering long sleeves, and it was clear that one of his arms was missing.

"Demon Kyle! You and I meet again at last." Speaking in a hoarse voice like a vengeful ghost crawling out from hell, the man pulled down his facial mask with his single arm, fixing a pair of vicious eyes directly on Kyle in the chair.

"If it isn't Hojo Maru, an old acquaintance." Kyle, who had been disinterested this whole time, finally raised his head. Looking at the one-armed ninja standing in the room, he smiled and said, "You actually didn't die? Come to deliver another sword to me?"

"Baka!" Hojo Maru couldn't help but curse in his native tongue, feeling so frustrated he wanted to vomit blood.

During the previous battle at the Hojo Dojo, his arm had been severed by Kyle using a Murasame blade made of sodium-carbon steel. The excruciating pain had been agonizing, and he had been forced to cauterize the wound and pour nerve-numbing poison into it just to stop the bleeding before fleeing to seek medical treatment.

Unexpectedly, no sooner had he walked a hundred meters away than the area where the Hojo Dojo stood turned into an endless, massive abyss—resembling a giant sinkhole that vaporized the ninja squad and tens of thousands of soldiers.
