Another month passed.

The Karl family members, from apprentices upward, gradually relocated in secret through the teleportation gateway to the base fortress on Dragon Turtle Island.

The original old manor was retained as a covert outpost for nurturing new family talents and served indirectly as a guardian for the Winter Soldier, who lay frozen in slumber within the manor’s underground vault.

During this period, Kyle once again invested in training ten apprentices with the “Super Agent” card and, using special materials, forged a third fixed teleportation gate connecting the island base, Stark Industries, and Wakanda—three distant and disparate locations.

Meanwhile, his genetic mutation disease could no longer be concealed from other members of the Karl family. Though his physique showed no significant abnormalities yet, his once radiant golden hair had completely turned into a silver-white shade, a clear sign of his deteriorating health.

In about six months, Kyle would face the transformation into a super soldier, forcibly mutated by irreversible nuclear radiation within his body, leading to the collapse and disintegration of his physical form and eventual functional death.

Logan, Rain, and Natasha were all shocked to the point of disbelief upon hearing this grave news. It took them a long time to gradually accept this earth-shattering truth.

Kyle—the head of their loyalty—was the world-renowned strongest man, a super soldier who had fought on countless battlefields with a perfect record. From rookie to retired major general, every campaign was a victory.

Single-handedly, he had turned the tide of wars, slain the Hydra organization, and forced the Samurai Nation into surrender.

Such a legendary figure standing at the pinnacle of the pyramid, hailed as a god-level hero and symbol of peace—yet now, after the end of World War II when all sought peace and happiness, his body was still burdened with the terminal disease of war...

Like an aged man nearing his final days, with his genes mutating ever faster, his constitution even lost superhuman abilities for brief unstable periods each day.

After Lucy personally delivered this news, Logan and Rain immediately sought out Kyle for confirmation and unanimously expressed their willingness to leave Earth with him and venture into the cosmos.

Kyle, however, firmly refused.

To him, the universe was filled with unknown dangers; whether one or three traveled made little difference.

Besides, Logan and Rain were top-tier fighters of the Karl family; if they left Earth with him, the family would truly fall apart.

“Don’t worry. Watch over the family. I will definitely come back alive,” Kyle promised them earnestly.

Though Logan and Rain were helpless, they could not persuade Kyle from his decision.

Thus, in the island base where the family members were collectively despondent, days passed one by one. Only three days remained until Kyle’s scheduled departure from Earth.

In these final three days, Kyle set aside all family matters and entered the gravity chamber for warm-ups. He practiced over a hundred combat techniques stored on his body, inventoried his weapons and foundation cards.

The items stored in his card space—golden gems, cannons, firearms, collectible miscellanea—were all placed as physical objects in the base’s stockroom, managed by Lucy, the family’s chief financial officer.

Kyle only kept for himself emergency food, a laser pistol, and aircraft and tank equipment that could be useful.

He was about to embark on an extremely perilous journey: either to transform and return or to become a small pile of wreckage lost in a distant corner of the starry void, buried far from Earth.

Even Kyle himself had no certainty this time.

On Marvel Earth, he still held the advantage of being a traveler through time and space, aware of known and unknown dangers and the main historical lines. But once he left Earth, all intelligence would reset to zero; everything would depend solely on his own exploration.

In the gravity chamber on the second underground level of the Dragon Turtle base, under the glaring focused lights, Kyle stood on one hand, repeatedly doing push-ups. His silver-white hair was soaked with sweat, strands flowing down to form a puddle on the polished floor.

“1023, 1024, 1025...”

His chest heaved rapidly as he breathed, dressed only in sweatpants. His perfectly proportioned physique stood straight, muscles and abs firm as if forged from steel.

“Tenfold human super soldier peak constitution, self-healing factor—these exist within me, deep in my blood and bone marrow, etched into my genes! Even if gene mutation suppresses it, it will never so easily take away what belongs to me!”

Kyle’s will was steadfast; he kept his spirit and body full of fighting vigor, refusing to be consumed by mutated genes and reduced to an ordinary man.

“Beep beep!”

As the mechanical door of the gravity chamber opened, Natasha appeared, clad in tight black leather. Upon seeing Kyle inside, she hurried in with a sense of urgency to report.

“Family head, there is news from the New York manor—Nick Fury has already...”

Before Natasha could finish, she suddenly let out a shout as she entered the gravity field, falling flat on the ground with a thud. Even the high curve beneath her zipped leather suit was pressed flat.

“Is the gravity set to the maximum twelve times?!”

Natasha’s face flushed red as she struggled to lift herself with both hands, staring at Kyle who was still doing one-handed push-ups. Her eyes were filled with astonished brilliance.

Such a superhuman monster physique hardly resembled a body on the brink of decay and death.

“Has Fury already arrived at the manor?” Kyle asked, exerting his wrist forcefully and flipping half a turn in the air before landing steadily on the ground.

“Yes. I’m ready too, prepared to take any position at S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Natasha said with labored breathing. Despite her exceptional super agent constitution, under twelve times gravity, her movements were sluggish and slow.

Kyle nodded and spoke to the voice-activated receiver in the room, “J.A.R.V.I.S., turn off gravity and switch to cleaning mode.”

“Understood, Family Head.”

J.A.R.V.I.S.’s voice responded as the system quickly deactivated the gravity field.

Natasha sighed in relief and stood up easily from the floor, only to be drenched again by cold water spraying from multiple showerheads that had opened in the chamber ceiling, turning the room into a torrential downpour.

After ten seconds, the sprinklers stopped, replaced by warm, dry air blowing from all four walls.

Kyle had already completed a quick wash, wiping away the grime. He then pulled out the Venom card and summoned the symbiote, which transformed into a hooded casual outfit.

He slipped a suspension ring onto a finger of his left hand, cast a spell, and opened a teleportation portal to the second-floor conference room of the manor.

“Let’s go. I’ve arranged a bright path for you. From now on, your fate is in your own hands.”

“Yes,” Natasha replied swiftly, wringing out her still-damp hair and quickly following Kyle’s steps into the glowing, swirling teleportation gate.
