"The head of the family is in the master's meeting room on the second floor, and hasn't left the estate these past few days," the maid replied respectfully.

Hearing this, Lucy let out a radiant smile, pouting with the natural innocence of a young girl. "That war maniac didn't even go out with Logan and the others."

"Well, all the better then. We can enjoy some quality time together, just the two of us."

Just as she was about to eagerly head upstairs, she seemed to remember something, spun around on the spot to display her figure and outfit, and asked the maid, "How does this look on me today?"

The two maids nodded quickly. After a flurry of compliments, as if sensing what Lucy cared about most, they added, "The family head is sure to love it."

"That's good." Lucy gently patted her budding, high-resourced chest, letting out a slightly nervous sigh of relief.

Her naturally flawless and exquisite face, now adorned with light makeup and paired with a professional pantsuit, seemed to shed a fraction of her girlish innocence and gain a touch of intellectual maturity.

"I'll head up to the second floor then. Bring some red wine and pastries up later," Lucy instructed. Without waiting for a reply, she gathered her skirt and hurried upstairs in a light jog.

On the second floor of the estate, in the master's meeting room.

Lucy knocked softly on the wooden door, and a calm, magnetic male voice came from within: "Come in."

Swiftly pushing the door open, Lucy stepped into the room, her beautiful eyes following the light into the spacious interior, her gaze locking onto the blond young man dressed in casual wear.

He stood with his back to the door, near the edge of the vintage window. His tall and robust physique blocked out most of the light from the window, leaving anyone entering with a straight, aloof, yet imposing back view.

"Kyle," Lucy murmured full of affection, jogging forward and wrapping her arms around the young man's sturdy waist, pressing her chest completely against his broad back.

"Lucy, you're back," Kyle whispered, turning his hand over to clasp the young woman's hand in his palm.

"If I don't come back here, where else would I go?" Lucy let out a giggle, playfully sticking out the tip of her pink tongue as she muttered in a low voice, "If you hadn't insisted that I manage the financial affairs of the Kahn family, I wouldn't have had to go to New York to take courses in economic management."

"How are your studies going?" Kyle asked with rare interest.

"Compared to the medical courses I studied before, it's not that hard. Besides, while working at the Stark Industries building, many of my colleagues looked out for me and taught me professional knowledge," Lucy said softly.

"There are still plenty of good people out there," Kyle chuckled, shrugging his shoulders.

Of course they looked out for her. Although Howard had stepped back into the shadows as a dedicated research scientist, he was still the ostensible owner of the industry, and Lucy had been personally recommended by Howard for a temporary stint at Stark Industries...

A connection as rock-solid as Vibranium.

"Stark Industries can operate independently, maintaining its own operations. Since the Kahn family's other businesses haven't expanded yet, both financial income and expenses are minimal, making it quite easy to manage," Lucy said, full of confidence.

"That's good. From now on, I can rest easy..." Kyle narrowed his eyes, gazing at the picturesque scenery outside the window. His words suddenly trailed off, and he stopped speaking.

"Rest easy about what?" Lucy looked up in confusion and pressed.

"Nothing." Kyle seemed to want to gloss over the topic, but the more deliberately he tried to hide it, the more acutely Lucy sensed something amiss.

"It's definitely not nothing. You've been a bit unusual today. Ah, Kyle, your hand!" Lucy exclaimed in extreme shock, her slender fingers tightly gripping Kyle's large hand. Only then did she realize his hand was rather cold, a far cry from the stove-like warmth she was used to.

"Kyle, are you hiding even this from me? What on earth has happened?"

Under Lucy's anxious and repeated questioning, Kyle let out a slight sigh. Taking a deep breath to steel himself, he turned around to face Lucy directly.

"Your hair..." Lucy's beautiful eyes widened. Trembling all over at the unbelievable sight, she reached out to touch Kyle's temples, where the blond hair had turned silver-white.

Yes. That once dazzling, brilliant blond hair, as if crystallized from sunlight, had its strands at the temples naturally turn silver-white, as though stripped of the vitality of youth.

"Lucy, let's go to the sofa. I'll explain everything," Kyle said calmly.

When he woke up that morning and discovered his hair had turned silver-white, he knew he could no longer keep it a secret from the members of the Kahn family, especially Lucy.

Although he could still barely manage to conceal it using the camouflage effects of the Symbiote, his physical condition was worsening by the day, and there was no longer any need for it.

It was time to tell the people of the Kahn family about his bodily genetic mutation and his upcoming plan to bid farewell and leave Earth.

Kyle wiped away the tears at the corners of Lucy's eyes, pulled the trembling young woman into his arms, and sat with her on the long sofa in the meeting room.

"This matter starts in Tokyo, Japan..."

Kyle no longer held anything back, telling Lucy every detail about his genetic mutation and his corresponding future plans.

"The genetic mutation directly threatens my life. I have roughly six months left, but the time I have prepared to stay on Earth is already running short. I estimate that in about a month, I will... leave Earth and head into the cosmos!"

As Kyle finished speaking, Lucy in his arms was already a tearful mess, her tears falling endlessly like pearls, dampening his clothes.

"Such an important matter, why did you keep it from us?" Lucy's chest heaved rapidly as she asked with angry sobs.

"Because I didn't want you to know that the seemingly omnipotent head of the family has already become a terminally ill genetic patient." Kyle smiled and said.

Had the crisis of his failing body been made public a while ago, the Kahn family probably wouldn't have been able to get back on track so quickly.

Being overly preoccupied with gains and losses was a habit Kyle simply couldn't change.

Lucy wiped the tears from her face, staring straight at Kyle with slightly reddened eyes, and asked urgently, "If you leave Earth and go into the cosmos, are you confident you can find a way to cure yourself?"

"Hard to say. The universe is too vast, and the dangers are too many. This path might be a narrow escape with nine deaths and one life."

Kyle gave a bitter smile as he voiced his concerns. Clenching his fists, his eyes filled with determination, he said, "I am terrified of death, so I will definitely fight to the very last moment. I won't die that easily!"

Lucy broke into a tearful smile. After thinking for a moment, she asked, "If you survive and your body is cured, how long will it take for you to return?"

"I don't know. Perhaps ten years, fifty years, or even a hundred years."

As Kyle spoke, noticing Lucy's eyes dimming, he added, "But no matter what, as long as I am still alive, I will definitely return!"

"I believe you." Lucy nodded, her expression more serious than ever before as she gazed steadily at Kyle. "After you leave, I will be right here waiting for you to come back."

"Whether it's fifty years or a hundred years, I will keep waiting until the day I die!"

The young woman said with absolute, unwavering resolve.
