Chapter Nine: The Zheng Sisters
“You’re saying that Wang Keng betrayed us, then ran away halfway through?” In the Pine Wave Villa District, upon hearing her older sister’s words, Zheng Qiuying nodded hurriedly, feeling wronged. “I got distracted because something came up, and that’s how he escaped.”
Sitting across from Zheng Qiuying was a strikingly beautiful woman with regal bearing, sharing about seventy percent resemblance with her. The remaining thirty percent was due to Zheng Qiuying’s rather modest figure—barely an A-cup—whereas her sister’s curves were spectacular, estimated at an E-cup. But what truly drew attention was the aura she exuded: her beautiful features were set in a stern expression, lending her an imposing air that made her seem unattainable. She frowned and said,
“So what distracted you enough to let him escape? And you said you bought fifty tons of scrap paper—where is it? Also, why did you pay for the goods in advance?”
At the mention of Qin Jing, Zheng Qiuying became excited, as if presenting a treasure. She pulled out a small vial. “Sister, look! Isn’t this the beauty serum you once brought back?”
“Beauty serum?” Zheng Qiuyin was speechless. She tapped her sister’s forehead, scolding lightly, “Can’t you focus on anything useful? The beauty serum originates from Phoenix Society—during our partnership, we spent a fortune to get it. What did you pay for this?”
“Uh, a million per bottle,” Zheng Qiuying whispered.
“A million! You…” Zheng Qiuyin was dumbfounded, holding the little bottle. “Do you really think genuine beauty serum can simply be bought with money? We had to exchange it for extraordinary cultivation techniques back when our relations with the Phoenix Society were good.”
“This little bottle—you say it’s beauty serum? You must be…” The words “cheated” were on the tip of her tongue, but she stopped short. As she glanced at the bottle, she suddenly stiffened.
“Sister, I know I messed up, but I just wanted to take a gamble. If I win, we get an extraordinary item with only mundane money. If I lose, it’s just some wasted cash…” Zheng Qiuying clung to Zheng Qiuyin’s arm, pouting coquettishly, though her petite figure paled in comparison to her sister’s. The friction of an A-cup simply wasn’t persuasive.
“If you lose, a million isn’t a trivial sum.”
Zheng Qiuyin reprimanded her coldly. She wasn’t strict by nature, but wanted her naïve sister to mature quickly. Zheng Qiuying pursed her lips, knowing she was at fault, and muttered angrily, “Hmph, if it’s fake, I’ll go find that guy. If he dares to trick me, I’ll make him pay…” She clenched her tiny fists in an empty threat.
“Wait, this thing…” While speaking, Zheng Qiuyin had already opened the vial. She leaned in to sniff it, and her expression changed instantly.
“Ah, it’s really fake!” Seeing her sister’s sour expression, Zheng Qiuying was stunned.
Zheng Qiuyin glanced at her, her expression complex, but her hands moved swiftly as she replaced the stopper and asked solemnly, “Where did you buy this?”
“Just in Second Alley! Sister, let me take you to find him. Ugh, damn it, I even gave him a big order. I can’t believe he swindled me like this.” Zheng Qiuying stamped her feet in frustration, her heart now full of hatred for Qin Jing.
An odd look crossed Zheng Qiuyin’s face. Having used the beauty serum herself, she had just been surprised—her unreliable sister had actually bought the real thing, and for mere mundane money. That was a huge win.
But hearing Zheng Qiuying’s words, Zheng Qiuyin chose not to reveal the truth yet and nodded, “Let’s go see. You said that Qin Jing helped you uncover Wang Keng’s betrayal?”
As they walked out together, Zheng Qiuying replied, “Yes, if not for that, I wouldn’t have trusted him so easily.”
“Sister, are you sure it’s fake? I feel like that guy was really confident, and the product seems genuine.” Seated in the car, Zheng Qiuying was still unwilling to let it go, asking quietly.
Zheng Qiuyin gave her a sly smile and nodded, “That bottle of beauty serum is real.”
“Oh… ah!” Zheng Qiuying was dumbstruck, silent for half a minute before suddenly shrieking, “Zheng Qiuyin! You tricked me!”
Zheng Qiuyin laughed until she was nearly doubled over, her soft, ample chest shaking. As they drove, a passing car’s young driver was so dazzled by the stunning sight that he crashed right into a concrete pillar with a bang.
About twenty minutes later, Zheng Qiuyin parked at the entrance to Second Alley. She led her sister inside on foot, explaining softly as they walked,
“You know yourself what beauty serum means to women like us. It’s an extraordinary item, with extremely low production. You’re lucky to have found it, but there’s also danger involved.”
“The danger lies in our ignorance of Qin Jing. Now that you know the serum is genuine, aren’t you curious? Why isn’t he afraid of Wang Keng? Why can he sell such a precious extraordinary item to you so casually? These are all questions.”
Zheng Qiuying pouted, “So what, can’t someone just sell good stuff at a low price?”
Zheng Qiuyin smiled, “You have a point, which is why I’m here with you. If he’s acting in good faith, we can simply talk to him openly, tell him we want beauty serum, and ask how much he can supply. Isn’t that straightforward?”
There was one thing she didn’t mention: Wang Keng had been in the car at the time, and was probably aware of Zheng Qiuying’s purchase. He belonged to the Phoenix Society, which also produced beauty serum; if word got out, it might spark a fierce conflict.
Having used beauty serum herself, Zheng Qiuyin’s skin was smoother and more radiant, and her figure even more outstanding than her sister’s, though Zheng Qiuying was a beauty in her own right.
The two sisters walking down Second Alley naturally attracted attention. Many people whispered,
“There’s usually only old men here—when did beauties like this start showing up?”
“Look, they stopped in front of Qin’s place!”
“Tsk tsk, luxury dealers are different—always surrounded by gorgeous women.”
“Come off it, judging by their outfits, these two aren’t ordinary folks. Maybe they’re here because they got scammed, and now they’re confronting him.”
A crowd gathered to watch the spectacle, but the protagonist wasn’t present; the door to Qin Jing’s shop was firmly locked.
