The atmosphere in the house grew heavy.

Father Lin glanced at his bandaged legs, his face dark and brooding.

Lin Dawei was swollen and aching all over, feeling both frustrated and angry.

Both of them had been injured by Lin Xiaodou, and naturally, neither wished her any peace.

“That ugly girl is terrifying when she goes mad. She’d better get married soon, or else the house will never be quiet,” Lin Dawei said, turning his gaze towards his father. “Dad, did you call us back just to talk about this?”

Father Lin nodded. “Yes, this needs to be dealt with quickly to avoid further trouble.”

“Old Lin, do you have any good ideas?” Mother Lin asked.

Father Lin’s eyes narrowed, his voice slow and deliberate. “That girl is utterly uncontrollable now. She needs to suffer a little to understand who truly cares for her. Dawei, later, you and I will go to the fool’s house. We’ll discuss it there.”

He didn’t trust speaking at home, worried the girl might overhear.

Lin Dawei was instantly energized. “Alright, Dad.”

After tidying up a bit, Lin Dawei pushed Father Lin out the door.

Neither noticed a small figure clinging to the wheelchair.

Once they left, Mother Lin finally saw the mess in the living room.

Dishes lay scattered across the dining table, shards littered the floor, and there were traces of blood. It meant that since last night, nobody had cleaned up.

Mother Lin’s expression turned sour in an instant.

Let the crazy girl be mad, but how could she also become lazy?

That wouldn’t do. Before the girl was married off, she had to do her chores!

Mother Lin strode to the door of the cluttered storage room, banging loudly.

“Lin Xiaodou, get out here! Clean up the house and cook dinner, or you won’t eat tonight!”

Within seconds, Lin Xiaodou opened the door, her face cold.

“Are you sure you want me to clean?”

Mother Lin crossed her arms, looking at her with disgust. “Of course! If you don’t work, you don’t eat. Go wash the dishes!”

Lin Xiaodou smiled lightly. “Alright, as you wish.”

Seeing her willingly pick up the dishes, Mother Lin snorted.

So the girl was just pretending to be mad before. Now that her madness had passed, she was back to obediently working.

Mother Lin had no intention of letting the girl eat.

Since she dared to go mad and attack people, she’d starve her for a few meals—she wouldn’t die anyway.

Mother Lin was busy fantasizing about how she might torment Lin Xiaodou in the coming days.

Suddenly, the sound of breaking porcelain echoed in her ears.

She looked up to see Lin Xiaodou smashing dishes onto the floor.

Within moments, four or five had shattered.

“You wretched girl, what are you doing? Stop right now!”

Those dishes were ones she’d recently scavenged from the supply store. Losing so many at once hurt her deeply.

Lin Xiaodou responded with a cheerful grin. “You told me to clean, so I’m smashing them. Now there’s no need to wash the dishes.”

“Who said to clean like that? Are you truly mad?!”

Mother Lin rushed over, scooping up the remaining dishes and barking orders. “Don’t bother cleaning here. I just unlocked the cupboard—go make dinner instead!”

“Alright.” Lin Xiaodou’s eyes lit up.

She grabbed a sturdy cloth bag from the cupboard, filled with white flour.

Lin Xiaodou poured all the flour into a large bowl, cracked several eggs, and started mixing.

Mother Lin quickly cleaned up the chaos in the living room.

Still uneasy, she hurried over to watch Lin Xiaodou.

One glance, and she screamed as if someone had been murdered.

“Lin Xiaodou! What are you doing! That’s three whole pounds of flour—did you use it all? And so many eggshells! How many eggs did you crack? What in the world are you making?!”

Lin Xiaodou raised an eyebrow. “Ten eggs. I’m making egg pancakes.”

“Ten?!”

Mother Lin was so furious she nearly fainted.

The supply store sold flour for twenty cents a pound—three pounds cost sixty cents. Eggs were seven cents each, ten cost seventy cents!

And you needed ration tickets for both flour and eggs. Altogether, that was over two yuan!

Who spent so much on one meal? Even the managers at the cannery weren’t so extravagant!

This wretched girl was wasting her food—digging out her heart!

Mother Lin slapped Lin Xiaodou in anger.

She was used to striking the girl, forgetting entirely about last night’s beating.

But before her hand landed, her arm was firmly seized by a small, soft hand.

“You really do forget pain once your wounds heal, don’t you?” Lin Xiaodou sneered, then turned her hand and slapped her hard.

A loud slap echoed.

Mother Lin was flung against the wall.

The stitches freshly sewn on her face burst open, blood streaming instantly.

Mother Lin wept in pain, clutching her face and running out.

She needed to go to the hospital, or her face would truly be ruined.

“Wait!” Lin Xiaodou blocked her path. “Weren’t you waiting for dinner? You can’t leave before eating.”

Mother Lin glared at her viciously. “I’m not eating!”

She was in agony, with no appetite at all.

This crazy girl would attack at the slightest provocation. Mother Lin feared another outburst—better to leave than stay.

“No, you must eat before you go. Otherwise, you’ll waste my effort.”

Lin Xiaodou poured a large bowlful of chili powder into the batter, stirred it a few times, and brought it to Mother Lin with a smile.

“My dear mother, here, dinner is ready for you. Eat up—you can’t leave until you finish.”

“These are raw! And so much chili powder—are you trying to burn my mouth?”

Mother Lin stepped back in terror, refusing to open her mouth.

“I don’t care—it was your order to cook.”

Lin Xiaodou strode forward, pried her mouth open, and stuffed the batter in.

“Mmm…mmm…”

Mother Lin shook her head desperately.

Blood from her face mixed with the spicy batter, making a terrible scene.

She could only swallow a small amount before spitting it all out.

Collapsed on the floor, she gasped for breath, her chest rising and falling violently.

Lin Xiaodou deliberately taunted her.

“There’s plenty left. Keep eating—after all, you ordered the meal.”

“I won’t eat! I’ll never ask you to cook or clean again! Just let me go!”

Mother Lin was truly frightened now.

She never imagined that after more than a decade of oppression, her daughter would snap and do anything.

All she wanted now was to leave quickly, far away from this mad girl.

“Fine, I’ll let you off this time,” Lin Xiaodou said, dusting her hands and returning to her room.

Some people shouldn’t be destroyed all at once; it was more fun to torment them multiple times.

She was quite looking forward to the “surprise” Father Lin would bring next.
