Volume One, Chapter 32: Drunken Xia Xia
Mother Su looked at Su Ningxia in utter disbelief.
“You hit—hit Xiaoxue?”
“Mom, she’s grown wild in the countryside. You’ve spoiled her too much with your soft heart and constant indulgence. But this can’t go on! She can’t go through life not knowing basic morals or propriety! Since you can’t bear to discipline her, as her elder sister, it’s my duty to teach her a lesson for you!”
Mother Su was dumbfounded.
“Stop it! You mustn’t hit Xiaoxue!”
Su Tingxue clutched her swollen cheek, her heart seething with hatred for Su Ningxia. She picked up something nearby and hurled it at Su Ningxia, but the latter dodged it with ease.
Su Ningxia massaged her palm. “My hand stings a bit from hitting her, but still…”
As she spoke, Zhao Liya’s expression twisted with rage, teeth gritted so hard it seemed she might shatter them. She strove to attribute all the credit to Jiang Bei, so as to further cement his status within the Qiao family.
“Of course, Daddy has plenty of money. For a courtyard like this, Daddy can buy several at once. From now on, Yanyan will keep her pets in the garden, and she can even chase butterflies there.” Tang Liang spoke with confidence, his mood clearly much improved.
Seeing his little sister’s outstretched hand, Wang Yang hesitated for a moment before reaching out to shake Song Dandan’s hand as well.
After this charge, the Blade Iron Cavalry not only failed to stop, but instead pressed straight toward the area where Shrek Academy was located. For a moment, even Tang San swallowed hard; this was no joke. With just one charge from that unit, the entire Shrek group would be trampled to dust.
Fortunately, after passing through the muddy ground, Chu Muyang halted and waited for Bai Suwan to catch up and put her shoes back on. He kept his gaze forward. Bai Suwan felt a strange sense of detachment, as if she were nothing but air. Once she’d changed her shoes, Chu Muyang turned and continued walking ahead, his voice floating back: “Follow me.”
But if Su Li became indebted to her for such a great favor, then, because of this connection to the Qingqiu clan, he would surely exhaust himself helping this descendant.
“Big sister, why did you give him the bread we saved up so long to buy?” the little sister grumbled.
Suddenly spirit rings appeared, startling Guan Yun and Tang San into releasing their own, preparing for a desperate fight… though that’s all they could do—prepare.
“No visitors allowed right now. Please leave immediately. If you don’t, don’t blame me for being rude!” the doctor said impatiently.
Then they made a shocking discovery: for the Shen family, only those who underwent a blood exchange with someone chosen by the gods could survive. If they didn’t do it by the age of eighteen, their bodies would rot from within, and death was certain.
Arriving at the spot where Yi Mengxue had stopped, they were lucky—the clothes hadn’t been sold, and Ling Zhoutian was able to retrieve them from the counter without issue.
The emperor commanded three major legions under his banner, along with the garrisons of each city—amounting to no fewer than three hundred thousand soldiers.
He gazed at her lips, rosy and glistening with moisture, his eyes darkening as he quickly looked away.
Bai Yuling had no fear of being discovered, confident in his ability to break through. But failure now would have grave consequences. The course of this life had already diverged from the previous one; if this was indeed the last brainwashing ultrasonic emitter and it was destroyed before the data could be obtained, it might be years before the Alliance could develop a countermeasure.
“But what is it?” Han Qing pressed closer to the microphone, as though he’d hit upon a sensitive nerve with the brothers, and pursued his questioning.
Once, I was just an ordinary worker, given a chance only because my boss saw something in me. Now I’m a company director—what about him?
When his incorporeal form finally became solid, Old Xiao realized that the Earth Flame’s main vein within his body had also become tangible—a massive gemstone, radiant and dazzling.
Qinglian felt a pang of sour jealousy in her heart. She deliberately pulled her aunt out of the inner room, running right into Li Yifei and his son as they were exchanging greetings at the entrance.
In the blink of an eye, Old Xiao and the Giant Spirit clan had fallen into a hellscape woven from endless plants, where they encountered countless terrifying and powerful flora.
The ticket to the national finals was in his hands. To be honest, in any of the ten divisions, it was entirely up to He Zuoge to decide which group advanced. Yet he had no desire to abuse this power; it was boring and would only undermine the quality of the acts, which would benefit no one, least of all himself.
And if you had no idea? If you believed this had nothing to do with you, would you still be this anxious? Long Huai propped his elbow and studied her. Haven’t you forgotten the past just as thoroughly?
“Young master, the other driver’s skills are incredible. If he’s really that good, none of us can match him. What do we do?” Ye Ran’s lackey asked.
“Lin Fei, you fought back?” Liu Jingjing’s voice was as cold as ever—concise and frigid, yet her words moved Lin Fei deeply. So the Ice Beauty had been watching over him all along; the moment he retaliated, she knew.
Sixteen waited at the entrance of the Examination Hall, watching the candidates undergoing inspection, while their families lingered anxiously outside. His heart was warmed yet tinged with melancholy—thus the day passed in a blur of mixed feelings.
Now, Yu Bai deeply regretted it; from the moment Li Yingjun stood up until he reached the bus stop outside “True Dreamland”—a distance of just a few dozen meters—Yu Bai had followed him, apologizing hundreds of times, “I was only joking!”
“You never looked into it?” Mu Qingqing’s heart suddenly tightened. If there was really no money, what would become of her grandmother?
“He is indeed formidable, but as long as he doesn't play dirty, it’s fine.” Compared to the financial magnates, Zhang Xuechu was more wary of the streetwise ruffians.
Bucktooth Qiang was utterly bewildered—twenty million to spend in three months? That was outrageous! For the first time, he found spending money a real headache.
Three sharp commands rang out, accompanied by the agonized screams of horses, slicing through the air like thunder and lightning, impossible to rein in.
Thus, this test was more about endurance and willpower. Otherwise, who could last ten days under such crushing gravity?
