Chapter 62: Instant Messaging, Tap Me
Lin Qianfan looked at the message, his brow furrowing slightly. "With so many applicants, the dormitory area is definitely not going to be enough."
"What should we do then?" Yongpan asked.
"Let's go find the principal." Lin Qianfan stood up and headed straight out the door.
In the principal's office, Lin Qianfan explained the situation. After listening, the principal pondered for a moment and pointed to a classroom in the back building of the school.
"There's an empty classroom in the back building that isn't usually in use. You can take it."
"Thank you, principal!" Expressing his gratitude, Lin Qianfan immediately brought Yongpan over to take a look.
The classroom was not large, but it was fully equipped with desks and chairs, and the ventilation was good.
"It'll do," Lin Qianfan nodded. "Tell all the applicants to come here for interviews tomorrow."
Yongpan nodded and immediately posted the interview notice on the official account, complete with a clear time and location.
The next day, the doorway of the classroom was bustling with people, and the applicants formed a direct, lengthy queue.
"Brother Fan, this is getting ridiculous!" Yongpan stood off to the side, his jaw dropping. "Did the whole school show up?"
"Stop talking nonsense and start the interviews." Lin Qianfan sat in the front row of the classroom, opened his laptop, and began screening resumes.
"Next, please."
A female student stepped forward, keeping her head down as she handed over her resume. "I'd like to apply for the part-time milk tea shop position."
Lin Qianfan glanced over the resume and asked, "Do you know how to make milk tea?"
"I've looked into it, but I'm not experienced."
"Alright, I provide training here. Can you accept that?"
"Yes!" The girl's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly.
"Then let's start with a three-day trial." Lin Qianfan handed over a form. "Fill out your information and report to me here tomorrow."
The pace of the subsequent interviews picked up rapidly. In less than two hours, the staffing needs for the milk tea shop were basically filled.
On the other side, the recruitment of delivery riders was also proceeding simultaneously.
"The requirements for delivering takeout aren't strict, but deliveries must be punctual," Lin Qianfan stated directly. "Pay is calculated per order; the more you deliver, the more you earn."
"No problem, I usually love riding my bike!" A male student patted his chest, brimming with confidence.
"Then let's start you on a trial basis." Lin Qianfan nodded and continued with the arrangement. "Next, please."
Busy all the way until the afternoon, the interviews finally came to an end.
Yongpan leaned back in his chair with a look of utter admiration. "Brother Fan, this efficiency is insane! We managed to recruit everyone in a single afternoon."
"High efficiency creates competitiveness." Lin Qianfan closed his laptop, stood up, and walked out of the classroom. "There are more important things ahead."
Meanwhile, the WeChat software was officially launched, and Lin Qianfan had Yongpan run a promotional campaign on the official account.
"Want to try magical 'instant messaging'? Tap me!" Large, bold fonts were paired with a playful animation where a little penguin was poked sideways by a finger, looking both funny and cute.
As soon as the message went out, students eagerly tapped to open it, and the comment section flooded the screen:
"What is this? A penguin game? Pretty interesting!"
"I'll register and try it out, it's free anyway!"
"Wow! You can also add friends to chat and send stickers. These stickers are hilarious!"
"With so many stickers, and they've even optimized the short video feature, this is way too powerful!"
"This function is miles ahead of previous software; it's like comparing heaven and earth!"
In just a few short days, the number of WeChat users surged explosively. Students recommended it to one another, and some even spontaneously promoted it in their Moments feeds:
"Come use this software to chat, it's genuinely amazing!"
"WeChat" rapidly became the hottest topic on campus, with everyone discussing its convenience and entertainment value.
The comment section exploded even further.
"Now this is what I call a chatting app; the ones we used before were absolute trash!"
"It's night and day! This WeChat update has made it an instant legend."
Looking at the data curve in the backend, Lin Qianfan's lips curved upward slightly, knowing full well that the users' reactions proved his direction was correct.
"Brother Fan, this update of ours has totally crushed all the competitors."
Yongpan eagerly crowded closer. "The whole school is using WeChat now, and downloads have already crossed the fifty-thousand mark!"
That afternoon, Xia Ruo went to the milk tea shop. Coincidentally, Lin Qianfan was also there, busy mixing milk tea behind the counter.
"Lin Qianfan." Standing before the counter, Xia Ruo spoke in a casual tone, "Why are you handling this personally?"
"We just finished hiring, and the shop is still short-handed, so I'm stepping in for now." Without lifting his head, Lin Qianfan kept his hands in motion.
"You really know how to keep busy." Leaning against the counter and watching his busy back, Xia Ruo suddenly said, "That WeChat app... you made it, didn't you?"
Lin Qianfan looked up at her. "How did you know?"
"Whose idea could it possibly be if not yours?" Xia Ruo's lips curved slightly. "Teach me how to use it."
Lin Qianfan set down his work, took out his phone, and opened WeChat. "It's simple. Register an account first, then add friends."
With that, he handed his QR code to Xia Ruo. "Scan this, let's add each other as friends and test it out."
Xia Ruo took out her phone and scanned it. A prompt quickly popped up on the interface: "Successfully added."
"Done." Lin Qianfan nodded. "If you need anything in the future, reach me on WeChat; it's much more convenient than texting."
Xia Ruo opened the friend chat interface, looked at the stickers and special effects inside, and smiled. "This thing is indeed great. No wonder everyone is using it."
"If it's good, recommend it to more friends," Lin Qianfan said casually, though his gaze lingered on Xia Ruo's phone as if confirming something.
Xia Ruo smiled. "Rest assured, I'll help you promote it."
Meanwhile, the milk tea shop in the downtown center officially opened.
The storefront decor was clean and bright, with an eye-catching sign hanging at the entrance: "Xia-Fan Milk Tea Flagship Store - Downtown Branch."
On opening day, a long line snaked out the entrance.
"Is this the milk tea shop Lin Qianfan opened? I heard it's super popular!"
"I've been wanting to check it out for ages, finally made it today!"
"This interior style is so classy, pictures are bound to turn out amazing!"
Many female students queued up while taking selfies with their phones, snapping photos of the interior decor along the way to post on their Moments.
"Girl, this milk tea shop is stunning! You have to come check it out!"
"I'm taking ten photos to post on Xiaohongshu! This place is definitely going to blow up!"
Soon, not only was the shop packed to capacity, but delivery orders began to skyrocket as well.
"Boss, today's delivery order volume has doubled again!"
The manager of the milk tea shop ran over to report, face beaming with excitement. "Office workers nearby are all ordering our milk tea!"
"Normal," Lin Qianfan said calmly, glancing at the order page.
"Downtown has high foot traffic and office workers with strong purchasing power. As long as the product is good, sales can't possibly be bad."
Sure enough, before nightfall, the milk tea shop was completely overwhelmed.
"Boss, the mango smoothie is sold out!"
"Pearl milk tea is running low too!"
Lin Qianfan gave direct instructions. "Restock immediately, and double tomorrow's preparation volume."
The staff were running off their feet, yet excitement painted every single face.
"Boss Lin, opening this milk tea shop is a massive success!" Yongpan sat nearby, unable to contain his emotion. "We've struck gold here!"
"This is just the beginning." Lin Qianfan's tone was calm, yet it radiated unyielding ambition.
