Volume 1, Chapter 31: See You There
"Where are the others?" Murong Xiao walked up to Wuying and Jun Moyu. Seeing the concern and joy on their faces, a warmth stirred in her heart, and a natural smile curved her lips.
An Keke widened her eyes. What other major event could possibly occur on the Varolan Continent? Wasn't her arrival here already the greatest event of all? An Keke simply could not imagine what kind of major incident could possibly happen in Varolan.
Jue Qingxiang cast a cold, sharp gaze at Jue Qiao, a faint, mocking smirk playing on her lips.
"Save me, please save me!" Seeing Murong Xiao was like spotting a lifeline for Shangguan Wan. She stumbled toward her, crying out in panic and desperation, pleading for help.
In truth, that was not the real reason. Song Yanyan’s refusal stemmed entirely from her feeling that she lacked the capability; she didn't think she could handle such a task. Moreover, the idea of revealing her eating habits in front of strangers felt unnatural to her. Just the thought of it made Song Yanyan uncomfortable.
Jue Qingxiang nodded, released him, and closed her eyes, channeling the spiritual energy within her into the spirit fetus to heal his wounds.
"You can just call me Pantheon! Since we know where the entrance is, how do we get inside? It looks like there are quite a few guards; taking them all out at once probably won't be easy," Pantheon asked.
Lin Hairu said nothing. Once they returned to the room, Ruixiang immediately poured her some tea.
Just as their lips were about to meet, Bai Ruoxi turned her body slightly, trying to evade the kiss from Ye Feijue.
Upon reaching the Noon Gate, Yi Ning lowered the curtain as instructed. Old Madam Wei smiled and patted her head.
Such conditions were naturally insufficient to sway the major factions; after all, two thousand high-grade spirit stones were tied to their very lifelines. However, the values of top-tier experts differ greatly from those of major factions. For a top expert, having enough spirit stones is sufficient, and earning them is an easy feat.
With dozens of screams, the experts of that family were reduced to ashes. Xun Meng changed her hand seal, and the mountain peak instantly vanished into thin air.
The imperial city was in turmoil, filled with rumors. Many speculated that this must be another premeditated warning.
After narrowly dodging the relentless attacks of her pursuer several times, Chu Yi unleashed "Scorching" upon another assassin.
"No, I have to go to work!" Lin Shiyan scrambled out of bed in a hurry, her face flushed red as she fled Wang Dadu's room.
It was easier to manage once someone from the royal family was willing to step forward. After seven short days of clashing with the Emperor and forcing the Empress Dowager to go to the Western Hills, the relationship between the monarch and his ministers had become extremely strained. Finally, there was some relief. The ministers were unwilling to oppose the Emperor, but they could not back down on matters of principle, lest they be ridiculed by the world and mocked by future generations.
One shouldn't assume that because the Grand Princess had only one heir, she would act selfishly. She had to consider and plan for herself! To think otherwise would be too narrow-minded! The more critical the situation, the more one must display filial piety. Only then could she warm the Grand Princess's cold heart and let her know that all her sacrifices were worth it.
Wang Dadu nodded, though it was merely his speculation, as Huo Jiuxiao had originally fled in the opposite direction from him.
Chu Yi felt awkward at the string of notifications. Could she be considered a jack-of-all-trades and master of none? Seeing that there were only three minutes left, she clicked the "hide" option for all the prompts. Knowing her own strength was enough; there was no need to discourage others, right?
Looking out into the distance toward the mountain peak, the evening glow blended with the setting sun. The faces of the four old scholars were full of playfulness, their white hair and kindly expressions making them look like four children who had regained their youth.
The monkey soldiers were training effectively. The greatest achievement of the past few decades was that the monkey population had exceeded twenty thousand. Fortunately, the territory of Huaguo Mountain was vast with plenty of fruit trees, and with Chen Mo having the monkeys plant more everywhere, supporting over a hundred thousand monkeys was not a significant problem.
The matter was settled, and Qian Binsu reluctantly accepted the authority from Lu Tianxiang.
Relying on thorough preparation and her personal connections, Wen Xin ensured that "Warm Home" was among the first guilds to pass the audit and receive an exclusive registration channel. As soon as she obtained the channel, Wen Xin immediately set about organizing everyone to join YY and guiding the guild members through registration. This alone had kept her busy until now.
"That's fine; Xia Tianyang can continue to assist Old Lu's work," Shi Xianyang agreed.
Liancheng Yuchi had always remembered it—it was simple and highly effective. His many years of student life had been guided entirely by this one sentence.
While making small talk with Huang Chao, Zhou Yuanzhi signaled to Xu Zhi. Understanding her intent, Xu Zhi grabbed Li Xiuyun and carried her on his back. Zhou Chen feinted at Zhang Zhifang with his sword to guard Xu Zhi’s rear, and the three of them slowly retreated.
Just then, as a clear stream suddenly surged through the sandy ground, the death aura was expelled and purified; the desert, which should have turned into a dead zone, gradually transformed into an oasis.
I smiled. The elevator arrived at our floor, the fourth, and after we opened the door, none of the three of us felt particularly happy.
Amidst the flying feathers of fire, the Fire Demon let out only half a scream before it stopped abruptly. Only drops of blood fell to the ground, staining the wood shards and igniting a raging blaze.
With each expansion, boundless thunderous power was generated and poured into that magnificent sword aura, which was already clashing with the combined force of the five swords.
Especially Hill—being able to kill his opponent, a 7th-level warrior, even after the latter received magical assistance and launched a surprise attack, showed that his strength was among the peak of 7th-level warriors. He had certainly lived up to the determination and talent that allowed him to break through to the 7th level in a desperate situation.
Wang Shiyu, of course, would not drink beer. She often went to her family's bar to have red wine or cocktails, which had a much higher alcohol content than beer.
The guild tournament was at a critical stage, and there was the Hundred Cities League to follow. Xia Xue did not want their personal issues to affect everyone's state of mind.
