Chapter 11: Climbing into Bed to Force Marriage

Su Nian stepped out of Lu Jinchuan’s office. The other secretaries from the secretary office respectfully approached her, offering her a bag. “Miss Su, President Lu is waiting for you in the restaurant to have lunch together. He said once you’ve rested, he’ll send you over.”
“This is the coffee President Lu prepared for you. Drink it on the way.”
Su Nian’s gentle face bore a faint smile as she calmly accepted the adulation surrounding her.
Confident yet serene, she radiated a strong sense of belonging.
Everyone treated her as the boss’s wife, flattering her accordingly.
Wen Ying was rather surprised.
Lu Jinchuan’s office was a private domain filled with confidential documents, yet he allowed Su Nian to use it as a resting room, making everything thoughtful and considerate.
At home, even his study was off-limits to her for the past three years.
Love or no love, was there really any point in repeatedly confirming it?
“Manager Wen, please step aside. You’re blocking Miss Su’s way,” Zhao Ke said disdainfully, annoyed by Wen Ying’s lack of tact.
Wen Ying pursed her lips. Even though she no longer cared, such starkly different treatment still pierced the part of her that had once been unseen, the part that had given so much for three years.
She lowered her head and stepped aside, looking at Zhao Ke. “If Lu Jinchuan isn’t busy, could you remind him to approve my resignation...”
“Lu Jinchuan?”
Su Nian, just arriving at the elevator, seemed to notice Wen Ying only because of that name.
Her expression was calm, and she asked thoughtfully, “Is she also an employee of the company?”
Wen Ying frowned. Su Nian knew who she was but might not be aware that she worked at Blue Prosperity.

Zhao Ke stepped forward. “Yes, she’s Manager Wen from the Public Relations Department.”
Su Nian withdrew her gaze and said lightly, “No wonder.”
No wonder the PR department was reluctant to handle her reputation crisis.
It made sense that it was Wen Ying.
She withdrew her gaze, a faint smile playing on her lips. “The atmosphere at Blue Prosperity is quite casual. Employees are allowed to address the boss by name.”
This remark wasn’t even directed at Wen Ying.
Zhao Ke’s expression shifted.
Su Nian had already entered the elevator, paying no mind to the matter.
However, at the moment the elevator doors closed, Zhao Ke glanced at Wen Ying. “Manager Wen, don’t you understand the rules? Blue Prosperity isn’t some small workshop. Stop playing little games by calling President Lu by his name. You’re making other employees misunderstand your relationship with him.”
“From now on, you have to say ‘President Lu’! Unless you want to be truly fired!”
Wen Ying frowned. She had always responded to Lu Jinchuan’s requests promptly, so much so that even when she submitted her resignation, neither he nor anyone around him took it seriously.
Did they think she was trying to attract Lu Jinchuan’s attention?
As for Su Nian—
She didn’t even regard Wen Ying, never feared her exposing any relationship. Why?
Because of the confidence of being loved!
Even if this blew up, the one who would be embarrassed would only be herself—the one accused of “climbing into bed to force marriage” and “breaking up true lovers.”

That afternoon.
Wen Ying packed her things, unwilling to wait for Lu Jinchuan to speak.
She arrived at the drone flight control competition venue before five o’clock.
With an invitation from Shen Jiaxiao, she entered smoothly.
Luck was on her side. As soon as she entered, she spotted He Xicheng surrounded by a circle of people.
The man’s expression immediately darkened when he saw her, but he pretended not to notice and continued chatting with insiders.
Wen Ying felt awkward watching him and ultimately didn’t approach to disturb.
She wandered around a bit. The event was grand, attracting many prominent figures in the industry.
He Xicheng, as the youngest rising star in innovative technology, was currently in the limelight.
Wen Ying felt genuinely happy for him.
After nearly half an hour, her stamina wasn’t what it used to be, and she reluctantly sat down to rest.
A pair of polished leather shoes appeared before her eyes. Looking up, she saw He Xicheng glaring at her with a dark expression.
“Oh? Little Baochuan’s not digging for wild vegetables anymore? Changing careers?”
