Chapter 27: So, Exactly How Was I the One Who Got Cuckolded?! (Please Bookmark, Vote Monthly, and Keep Reading)
"Truly, that is absolutely despicable..."
Chen Fengshui’s wife watched as the fox jumped from the car window onto the street, looked left and right to ensure it wouldn't be hit by traffic, and then dashed with incredible speed toward the entrance of the Gaofeng Consulting Company.
Under the watchful eyes of Old Chen and his wife, the fox stuck a note onto the rear of that brand-new Panamera.
Then, the fox checked left and right once more to ensure it was safe to cross, darted back to Old Chen’s car in a flash, and with an elegant leap, jumped back inside through the driver’s side window.
Chen Fengshui’s wife wore a complex expression, casting a gloomy look at Old Chen, as if to say: Look at what you’ve done.
Old Chen was speechless, not wanting to say a word. Who could have guessed that the fox they encountered on the side of the road was actually the supernatural Lord Fuli? If he’d had even a single peanut to snack on, he never would have called the Forestry Bureau in the first place.
Ansheng, sitting in the back, was unaware of what the elderly couple was thinking. He simply observed the bustling morning at Gaofeng Consulting with great interest. The morning at Gaofeng Consulting was far more lively than the one at Martin’s. Ansheng was very curious about how Gaofeng would react when he saw the note on his car.
Actually, Ansheng had wanted to stay and watch the show. But Yu Xueqing had finished saying goodbye to her parents and returned to the van. With three people and one fox, they drove the Fengxing Lingzhi minivan back toward Changxi Town.
Back at Gaofeng Consulting, Gaofeng, who had been briefly unconscious, woke up and called the cleaning company in a rage.
"What? The sewage pipe is blocked and excrement is spraying everywhere..."
"Sorry, boss! This money is too dirty; we’re afraid of the guilt, so please find someone else!"
Gaofeng stared at his phone in bewilderment, then looked at the sewage flowing down the steps to the first floor, completely stunned. Several more calls were made, but every cleaning or plumbing company hung up the moment they heard that sewage was overflowing at Gaofeng Consulting.
Gaofeng’s face turned pale. Seeing the "strawberry towers" in every corner of the office, he called his employees over, instructed them to handle the cleaning, and then clenched his buttocks tightly, preparing to head to the hospital for emergency treatment.
But as he was getting into his car, he inadvertently noticed a note on the rear. Gaofeng frowned and pulled the message out from where it was tucked into the hidden rear spoiler.
Twisted, shaky handwriting greeted his eyes:
[Uncle, I'm sorry. I'm a primary school student. I accidentally bumped into your car and scratched it, but don't worry, I secretly used a marker to touch up the scratch for you.]
The more Gaofeng read, the more terrified he became. Ignoring the pain in his rear and his groin, he circled his beloved car, as if desperate to find the scratch.
***
After circling the car, he didn't see any marker touch-ups. Gaofeng refused to give up; he gritted his teeth against the pain and felt along the body of the car, trying to find traces of the marker. Yet, despite his efforts, he still couldn't find any scratches.
Gaofeng’s face grew darker. He lay on the ground, crawling to inspect the chassis and side skirts, feeling around meticulously.
"Primary school student... you mother-f***ing little beast!" Having inspected the car back and forth without finding a single scratch, Gaofeng couldn't help but lose his composure. "Where the hell did you damage it?!"
Because the pain in his rear was unbearable, he had no choice but to go to the hospital’s emergency room, where he stayed until the early hours of the morning.
When Gaofeng returned home in the early hours, he took out a high-powered fishing light, shone it onto the car body, and—standing with his legs splayed like someone who had just undergone surgery—he inspected the paint over and over again.
Gaofeng muttered to himself: "Damn it, what kind of cursed little beast... if you scratched it, you scratched it. At worst, I’d just spend three or five thousand to repaint it. Why the hell did you use a marker to paint over it for me..."
By now, it was no longer about the paint for Gaofeng. He felt as if he had been cheated on, but he had no idea where the betrayal had occurred. If it had been that morning, he would have definitely demanded the little beast bring its parents to pay up. He would have replaced whatever part was damaged, never opting for repairs. But now, all Gaofeng wanted to know was where that little beast had damaged his beloved car.
"So... where the hell is the scratch?!" Gaofeng roared in frustration.
***
Back home, Ansheng could never have imagined that his impulsive bit of mischief would plunge Gaofeng into days of mental anguish. He even dragged employees from a 4S dealership into the same spiral of confusion, leaving a whole group of people baffled as to where the Panamera’s paint had been scratched.
"Time to pick a 'concubine' and get some sleep..."
Ansheng lay on Yu Xueqing’s bed, stretched out, and prepared to check if any new, easily completable tasks had appeared on his wish list. If there really weren't any, he would just have to grit his teeth and help those bratty kids with their summer homework. After all... earning wish-power wasn't shameful; who knew, he might rely on it to achieve his true form one day.
[Wow! Bless me, Lord Fuli, I hope Mom and Dad can take me to the pet street to see the fish tonight — Qiao Liang]
[Wish Fulfilled: See the fish]
[Hehehe... I’ll take a photo in a bit. The little fox isn't very old but is quite bold, wandering around on the table. In the city, a fluffy thing like you, walking around with a bell, would get 'fixed' — Wu Sihan thought happily about taking a photo with you, pondering in her mind whether the pet hospital could remove your little bell.]
[Wish Fulfilled: Photo (You thought to yourself that you didn't really need it anyway, so you let her take it)]
Ansheng: "???"
I’m a little fox; do I have to be persecuted by humans just for drinking tea at a teahouse?
Seeing the word "photo," Ansheng recalled the young mother and son who had approached him with friendly faces to ask for a photo while he was stuffing his face at the Sixi Teahouse. This wish must have been made when that pair was holding him for the picture.
Ansheng was full of confusion.
[Wish fulfilled. Wu Sihan obtained a cute photo with the little fox and left satisfied; she even ate two extra bowls of rice during her meal that morning.]
[Wish-power +1]
[Total Wish-power: 2]
"I cooperated with your photo, and you wanted to 'fix' my parts to turn them into a bracelet? How chilling. When will us foxes finally stand up against the tyranny of the pet hospitals?"
Ansheng rolled his eyes and, as per his custom, threw all 2 points of wish-power into his body.
Of the 2 points of wish-power:
One point came from [Yu Xueqing’s anxiety], and Ansheng had successfully reached the "Ghost Fire" ending. He had successfully integrated into Yu Xueqing’s home and became a family member. There was still one wish of Yu Xueqing’s left unfulfilled: [The old burying the young]. This task was related to that group of brokers at Gaofeng Consulting. Ansheng needed to break their spirits, to the point where they would take a detour the moment they saw Yu Xueqing’s family, only then would it be considered complete.
The other point of wish-power came from that mother and son he had met at the teahouse. Although she had joked in her heart that a little fox in the city needed to be "fixed," Ansheng, for the sake of the wish-power, begrudgingly forgave her and wouldn't expose the fact that she used inflatable pads in her bra.
The two points of wish-power were poured into his body, and the little fox made a look of pure bliss, his tail even popping out an extra one.
"Hmm?!"
"A tail? I grew another tail!"
"Yip, yip, yip—"
