The voluptuous Lilith wore flowing, ethereal white robes as she spoke amicably and warmly with the giant queen, Ombella. Suddenly, she sensed a mysterious and unfathomable consciousness reaching out to her, tugging at her own awareness with an irresistible pull.

“I think I shall rest for a while,” Lilith said gently and candidly, smiling.

Ombella immediately ceased her slightly ingratiating tone. Though puzzled by why the progenitor of the bloodline had abruptly lost interest in their conversation, she dared not inquire recklessly. Respecting Lilith’s apparent wish, she dismissed all her kin and left only a parting remark: “Please rest. Should you need anything, just command us.”

The grand, opulent palace disappeared in an instant, leaving only Lilith reclining on a chaise lounge.

Relaxing her control over the pull, Lilith’s consciousness passed through what seemed like a shadowy veil enveloping the world. She found herself standing atop the moon pillar in a dreamlike realm.

Raising her eyes to survey her surroundings, she saw the same scene as before: within this vast and mysterious space, before a colossal interplay of light and shadow, only the luminous figure on the sun pillar and the dark silhouette on the star pillar were visible.

Though months had passed without contact, for Lilith—who had endured countless long years—a few months were but a fleeting moment.

Moreover, much had transpired within that brief period: the giant king, the wolf-king, and the phoenix progenitor seemed to have lost their minds in ferocious battles, brain matter flying wildly. Conflicts among the races flared up ceaselessly. Even she herself had been courted handsomely by the giants with offers to join their fight against the phoenixes and their undead legions.

Lilith gazed at the radiant figure on the sun pillar and chuckled softly. “Sun god, you have summoned me here. Have you decided what you wish to obtain from me?”

It seemed Lilith was in good spirits. The presence she felt in summoning her clearly emanated from within the giant king’s court.

From this, it was inferred that Lilith was quite pleased with the rewards promised by her giant allies.

With these thoughts, Helmayne spoke calmly: “Progenitor of the bloodline, I wish to know the current movements of the giant king.”

Through her cryptic arcane connections to the ‘Error,’ and by piecing together fragmented clues, Helmayne was among the few beings in this world most aware of the giant king’s present situation.

The awakened ‘Error,’ driven by its survival instinct, constantly flitted between the pursuits of the wolf-king, the phoenix progenitor, and the giant king.

During these encounters, the three ancient gods inevitably clashed in battle.

The singular essence of the ‘Fortress of Origins’ that the Error possessed was a treasure none of them could relinquish. It was the root of their most primal hunger to devour. Coupled with the interference of the Error’s own authority, these three gods never entertained the idea of uniting first to confront the Error.

Were it not for their instinct to seek benefit and avoid harm, alongside countless indestructible powers and stratagems, the three ancient gods would have long since torn each other’s brains out.

Though she had seen these fragments, Helmayne still posed the question to Lilith—not for its own sake, but to draw the progenitor’s attention toward the giant king.

Even if Lilith, the progenitor of the bloodline, did nothing, the fact that the encircled giant king was under the scrutiny of an ally would inevitably plant thoughts in its heart.

And yet... the main event had yet to commence.

Merely probing the movements of a fragile ally, despite the guarded caution within, Lilith did not reject this “price”...

Because she held a yearning toward that radiant figure—she longed to obtain more intelligence concerning the “Primordial Moon.”

Lilith concealed no such yearning; such concealment would be meaningless. She openly asked Helmayne, “Sun god, do you know how to dispel or sever the attraction emanating from the ‘Primordial Moon’?”

Ah, Lilith’s state was indeed worrisome.

Yet, this attraction... might not even originate from the “Primordial Moon.”

Without warning Lilith, Helmayne’s prepared whispers echoed through the dream realm:

“This attraction is essentially a form of return—neither severable nor removable—and it grows ever stronger with the passage of time.”

“Unless by death.”

As these words reached Lilith’s ears, Helmayne once again deliberately severed their connection.

“Are you trying to trick the progenitor of the bloodline into dying?” Amaneisis, who had been silently observing, cast a suspicious glance at Helmayne after seeing the crimson figure dissipate from the moon pillar.

She found her own suspicion laughable, yet sensed there was more than mere jest to it.

Helmayne shrugged off the mystic tone and chuckled lightly, commenting, “To die and then be reborn—this is a miracle, but not uncommon in this world.”

A group of ancient ones were all preparing contingencies, all raising coffins, and even exerting extra effort to press down on one another’s caskets.

Both she and Amaneisis were products of such arrangements...

Of course, Helmayne admitted that if she possessed such power, she would surely use it to her advantage—after all, who could resist the joy of lurking unseen in the grass?

Standing atop the star pillar, Amaneisis squinted her eyes, lost in thought.

...

At the northern border of the giant kingdom.

A female hunter wrapped in animal pelts crouched behind a hill, watching the wandering corpses in the distance.

Beside her, a companion burdened with various spiritual materials had dim eyes that glimpsed the spirits lingering behind the dead.

“Can we fight them?”

“That’s not the question... It’s that these resurrected undead are backed by that terrifying phoenix!”

The two were guardians of their tribe, dispatched as scouts in the current direction. They had been “fortunate” enough to discover traces of that undead army.

Concealed by powders made from spiritual materials, they cautiously observed while stealthily retreating.

Surviving to relay the movements of the necromancers back home would be considered a success.

Suddenly, they saw a towering figure with gray-blue skin squatting in the distance.

“Is that... a giant?”

Protected by giants, they naturally recognized the race of this tall, gray-blue figure.

A wave of relief surged within the female hunter’s heart.

“The giants have come to save us!”

She whispered to her companion with a light smile, her face relaxed.

But when she turned, she saw her companion’s eyes darken with terror!

Her partner clutched her mouth with one hand, desperately stifling any sound from escaping her throat, while the other hand grasped the hunter’s garment, pulling her quietly away.

The hunter was puzzled but trusted that her companion’s strange behavior had a cause. She thus reduced her movements, slipping away slowly under the cover of the powders her companion cast.

The giant’s massive back, like a small hill, turned sideways toward them, its shoulder trembling as if it were gnawing on something.

Though the angle concealed the giant’s face, and their low spiritual senses could not detect any supernatural phenomena, the hunter’s keen eyesight spotted fragments of heavy fur garments, similar in style to her own, scattered beneath the giant’s feet.

She smelled the metallic tang of human blood.

She smelled the familiar scent of alcohol lingering on her tribal comrade.
