Chapter Forty-Five: Star: Flame Spear! Charge!
With the cooperation of several, the remaining Rift creatures were dealt with one by one.
Cocoria cursed under her breath, then activated the Creation Engine to attack the group.
A laser beam shot from the head of the Creation Engine, sweeping toward them.
Xing swung his sword, the flames consuming the laser. Where the two collided, explosions rang out continuously.
...
Meanwhile, inside the train, Walter watched Xing wielding the Celestial Fire Judgment, images of that man constantly flashing through his mind.
Ye Yun chuckled at Walter’s constipated expression and leaned closer.
“Walter, isn’t the Celestial Fire Judgment just stunning?”
Walter nodded stiffly.
“Stunning…”
Kiko, noticing this, grew curious.
“Walter, what’s wrong? Don’t you feel well?”
Walter took a deep breath.
“I’m fine physically; just remembering some things from the past.”
Upon hearing this, Kiko basically understood Walter’s state.
Ye Yun, watching Xing and the others display their prowess on the screen, found it a bit dull to just watch and decided to purchase a tea set and a tea cake from the system.
“Zhongli, Walter, come, come, let’s have some tea.”
Zhongli looked at the tea set in Ye Yun’s hand.
“This tea set is well-crafted. The patterns carved on it could only be made by a master craftsman.”
Ye Yun smiled.
“I don’t know about that stuff; as long as it can be used, it’s fine.”
Saying that, Ye Yun rinsed the tea set with boiling water, brewed tea in the teapot, and poured a cup each for himself, Walter, and Zhongli.
“Here, have a taste.”
The three then sipped tea while watching the projection.
...
Back at the Eternal Winter Ridge.
After catching his breath, Xing seized an opening in the Creation Engine’s attack and charged up it, rushing toward Cocoria.
Along the way, new Rift creatures appeared to attack him.
Under the long-range sniping of Bronya and Sanyueqi, all were eliminated before they could get close.
Several minutes later, Xing arrived unharmed in front of Cocoria.
Cocoria angrily drew her gun and fired at Xing.
Xing quickly raised the Celestial Fire Judgment to block; the tremendous impact nearly knocked him off his feet.
Before Xing could react, Cocoria launched a second attack immediately.
Xing had no choice but to dodge to the side.
Cocoria kept attacking relentlessly, giving Xing no chance to counter.
Moreover, she stayed airborne, making it difficult for Xing to reach her.
As the saying goes, there is no absolute defense.
Seizing the opportunity, Cocoria fiercely threw the Flame Spear.
Xing was forced backward, his consciousness gradually fading.
When he regained awareness, he found himself amidst the stars.
...
Xing looked around and saw a Flame Spear planted in the distance.
He thought for a moment; since there was nothing else around, he decided to approach it.
As he walked, phantoms began to appear around him.
These phantoms were the memories of the great guardians of Beloberg throughout history, including Cocoria’s.
Viewing these memories, Xing understood why Cocoria had struck a deal with the Star Core.
She had no choice—despair, no visible path forward; the future was pitch black.
Before the Flame Spear stood a little girl.
“You’ve come.”
Xing nodded and looked at the girl with curiosity.
“Who are you?”
The little girl said, “I am the consciousness condensed from the great guardians of the past.”
She glanced at Xing, then continued.
“This city is crying... the power of the ‘Preservation’ is fading.
In the end... we still could not resist the will of the Star Core.”
Xing saw the girl’s mournful expression.
“If you cannot preserve it, then let others do so.”
The girl was slightly shocked by Xing’s words but quickly calmed and pointed toward the nearby Flame Spear.
“Then go, touch the light of the ‘Amber’!”
Xing approached the Flame Spear and reached out to touch it; the moment his hand made contact, a surge of flames erupted from the spear, and he instinctively withdrew.
He looked at the spear, his gaze resolute.
“Charge!!!”
With all his strength, Xing pulled the Flame Spear free.
...
Xing returned to reality.
Holding the Flame Spear in one hand and the Celestial Fire Judgment in the other, he spun and landed precisely on the palm of the Creation Engine.
Sanyueqi, Danheng, Xi’er, and Bronya were overjoyed to see Xing unharmed.
“Xing!” Sanyueqi waved happily.
Xing nodded spiritedly, then raised the Flame Spear high.
“Everyone! Let’s go!”
Cocoria stared at the rekindled Flame Spear, disbelief etched across her face.
“No! No! Impossible! Why would the Preservation choose you!”
Cocoria unleashed her full firepower, completely merging with the Star Core.
She raised her right hand, forming a colossal ice spike that crashed down toward Xing and the others.
Xing raised the Flame Spear, casting a protective shield over himself and his companions.
In his other hand, he swung the Celestial Fire Judgment.
The scorching flames struck the ice spike; where they collided, red and blue lights exploded.
When the lights faded, pitch-black smoke lingered in the air.
Suddenly!
Xing burst forth from the smoke, the Flame Spear pointing directly at Cocoria above.
Cocoria attempted to form another ice spike, but Danheng and Xi’er suddenly appeared above her and launched attacks.
Cocoria hastily defended, repelling them.
As she tried to form the ice spike again, it was too late—Xing thrust the Flame Spear into her body, dealing a grievous wound.
Cocoria slammed heavily onto the ground, the impact creating a deep crater.
She barely rose when Xing, brandishing the Celestial Fire Judgment, stood before her and struck, utterly incapacitating her.
“No... impossible!”
Weakly lying on the ground, Cocoria’s body began to emit a faint glow.
At this moment, the others arrived; Bronya looked at Cocoria with deep sorrow.
“Mother!”
Cocoria struggled to lift her head and looked at Bronya; now conscious, she felt deeply comforted.
Her daughter had grown and possessed the strength to protect Beloberg.
How wonderful... Suddenly, a sharp pain tore through her chest; the Star Core sensed danger and tried to escape.
Cocoria gripped it tightly, refusing to let it go, determined to perish together with the Star Core.
“Don’t come any closer! Bronya!”
Bronya was heartbroken watching Cocoria.
“No! Don’t do this! Mother!”
At that moment, an incongruous voice sounded.
“Why so tragic? You’re making me almost cry.”
Everyone turned toward the voice and saw Ye Yun approaching with Rios.
On Rios’s back, the little fire monkey and Buboo Seed rushed excitedly toward their owner.
Xing and Sanyueqi had left the two little spirits behind yesterday, anticipating a fierce battle and wanting to keep them safe.
Sanyueqi, seeing Ye Yun, was overjoyed.
“Ye Yun! Why are you here?”
Ye Yun scratched his ear.
“I couldn’t stand watching from above anymore, so I came down to help.”
Ye Yun glanced at Cocoria, then at Bronya.
“Bronya, right?”
Bronya nodded.
Ye Yun continued.
“Remember to send me 100 Star Pearls later.”
After saying this, Ye Yun swiftly reached toward Cocoria, pulling the Star Core from her body and suppressing it.
Then, he tossed a bottle emitting a pure white light onto Cocoria.
The potion spilled over her, instantly restoring her frail body to its original state.
Xing stared at the scene in disbelief and ran over to Ye Yun.
“Ye Yun, what’s this potion? It works so well! Give me two bottles.”
Ye Yun replied, “It’s the Life Water of the Elf Tribe. There’s only one bottle, and it costs 10,000 star coins. Are you sure you want to buy it?”
Xing immediately shut up. Ten thousand! That’s enough to buy ten Trash Can brand scratch cards! No way! Absolutely not buying!
