Chapter 25, Venti: Where on earth did my Traveler go?

After Amber got out of the vehicle, she asked everyone to wait a moment while she went to speak with the Knights of Favonius stationed at the city gate.

Himeko glanced at the time and said, “Lumine, you should go on ahead. We have to head back. We’ve been out playing long enough.”

Welt nodded as well. “That’s right. We’ll return for now. We can come back another time.”

Ye Yun looked up at the sky. It was nearly dusk here in Teyvat, even though it had only been noon when they arrived.

He glanced at Hook and Clara.

The two little girls looked utterly exhausted, yawning every now and then. It was only natural. They had spent the entire day having fun, and even aboard the RV they had been running around and playing nonstop.

Ye Yun gently rubbed their heads.

“Lumine, we won’t go in this time. We’re going back to rest. We’ll come again when we have the chance.”

Paimon looked a little disappointed. “Huh? Why? We’re already at the city gates.”

Ye Yun smiled. “It’s fine. As long as you’re in Teyvat, we can come over whenever we want. All it takes is opening a portal.”

Paimon was about to persuade Ye Yun to stay and visit the city with them, but Lumine spoke first.

“No problem. Once I’ve settled down here, I’ll invite everyone over for a meal!”

Himeko smiled faintly. “Good. Then I’ll be waiting for your feast, Lumine.”

Lumine patted her chest. “No problem!”

Afterward, Ye Yun, Himeko, Welt, Hook, and Clara entered the portal and returned to the train.

Paimon was somewhat puzzled. “Lumine, why didn’t you ask everyone to stay? I was hoping we could all have dinner together tonight.”

“They were tired from playing all day and wanted to go back and rest. Didn’t you notice that Hook and Clara were practically falling asleep?”

Only then did Paimon realize it. “Oh, right…”

At that moment, Amber suddenly asked, “Lumine, Paimon, I’ve finished arranging that ‘RV’ of yours. But where did Ye Yun and the others go?”

“They went back to rest,” Paimon replied.

Amber was bewildered. Back where? Where exactly had they gone? Weren’t they travelers like Lumine?

“Aren’t they traveling with you?”

Lumine shook her head, then nodded. “In a way, yes. But they aren’t from our world. They come from other worlds. They just returned to their own world to rest.”

Amber stared at Lumine in shock. “What? They’re from another world?”

Lumine nodded. “That’s right. It’s a long story. I’ll tell you while we walk. It’s getting late, so let’s head into the city first.”

Amber thought Lumine had a point, and soon led her and Paimon into Mondstadt.

All along the way, Lumine explained everything about Ye Yun and the others. Amber listened with rapt attention, straining her ears and carefully taking in every word lest she miss a single detail.

Before long, the two of them arrived at a plaza.

There, Amber presented Lumine with the gift she had promised her: a Wind Glider.

Just as Lumine was about to practice using it, the weather suddenly changed. Fierce winds began to howl, and thunder and lightning filled the sky.

“Run! It’s the Stormterror!”

Someone shouted, and everyone in the plaza scattered in panic.

A dragon’s roar rang across the heavens. Lumine looked up in shock as Dvalin glided across the sky.

“Lumine! This way!”

Amber called out and led Lumine toward a nearby building.

Suddenly, a tornado formed behind Lumine and swept her high into the air.

Just as Venti was about to rush out and help her, Lumine’s mind suddenly clicked. She hurriedly opened a portal and jumped through it.

Venti stared blankly at what had just happened.

Wait! Where did my enormous Traveler go?

When Paimon saw Lumine leap into the portal, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Amber, let’s run. Lumine is safe now.”

Amber had no idea what Paimon meant. How was Lumine safe? Hadn’t she just been carried away by a tornado?

Paimon explained, “Lumine just opened a portal and ran over to Ye Yun’s side.”

Only then did Amber remember that Lumine had indeed mentioned being able to open a portal to Ye Yun’s world.

However, the portal could only be used by Lumine and Paimon. It was useless to anyone else.

Inside Ye Yun’s shop.

Ye Yun, Himeko, Welt, Hook, Clara, and Pom-Pom were seated around the long table in the center of the room, eating the dinner Pom-Pom had prepared.

Each person had a steak, while several plates of vegetables and other side dishes sat in the middle of the table.

A portal opened in front of them. The next second, Lumine flew straight out of it.

“Ow!”

Seeing Lumine land face-first on the floor, Ye Yun could not resist teasing her.

“Lumine, why do you always make such dramatic entrances? Does your face hurt?”

Lumine climbed to her feet and rubbed her little cheeks.

“What do you think?”

Himeko noticed how disheveled Lumine looked, as though she had just survived some kind of disaster.

“Lumine, what happened to you? Did you run into trouble?”

Lumine then told Ye Yun and the others what had happened.

Welt immediately became interested. “A dragon?”

Lumine took the towel Pom-Pom handed her and wiped her face.

“Yeah! It was huge—absolutely terrifying!”

Welt suddenly wanted to go and take a look. The Wind Crystalflies he had brought back earlier were currently in his room.

Before he could say anything, Ye Yun spoke first.

“Come on, let’s go. I’ll go with you and help you deal with it. Otherwise, you probably won’t be able to return for a while.”

With that, Ye Yun opened a portal, set its destination to the place Lumine had come from, and pulled her through.

Watching the portal close, Welt looked somewhat disappointed.

“I wanted to go too.”

Himeko covered her mouth and chuckled. “Next time, remember to speak faster.”

Welt sighed, then continued eating.

High above Mondstadt, Venti was preparing to lead Dvalin away from the city.

With the protagonist gone, there was no need for him to continue with the performance.

Just then, a portal suddenly opened, and Ye Yun and Lumine stepped out.

Quick as a flash, Venti descended to the ground and hid himself.

From the safety of the plaza, Paimon and Amber looked up and spotted Lumine and Ye Yun in the sky.

“Amber, look! Lumine is back—and Ye Yun is with her!”

High in the sky, Ye Yun gazed at Dvalin flying in the distance.

“He’s certainly big.”

Lumine looked rather speechless. “He’s a dragon, after all. Dragons are huge creatures in every world, all right?”

Ye Yun smiled. “No matter how big he is, it makes no difference.”

With that, he reached toward Dvalin and clenched his hand.

In an instant, a terrifying force erupted from Ye Yun’s body.

That power transformed into several dark-golden chains that shot toward Dvalin.

The chains moved with incredible speed. By the time Dvalin realized what was happening, they had already wrapped around him.

Dvalin let out a furious roar and struggled wildly, trying to break free.

Ye Yun’s lips curled into a faint, disdainful smile.

“Struggling is useless! Bind!”

Ye Yun increased the force ever so slightly. Dvalin was immediately wrapped up like a dumpling and dragged through the air toward him.
