Chapter 21: A Golden Legend!

March 7th crossed her arms and stared at Stelle, speechless.

"You know full well that's not the Stellaron I was talking about. Do you really get that much joy out of trolling?"

Stelle gave March 7th a thumbs-up.

"Yes, I do!"

March 7th had absolutely nothing left to say; Stelle was beyond saving, a troll of the highest order.

Over half an hour later, the group finished their hot pot. March 7th stretched her back and stood up.

"Fed and watered, time to get to work."

Stelle shook her head.

"No rush, let me pull one more!"

Stelle went over to Ye Yun and produced 30 Stellar Jades. "Ye Yun, give me three 'Trash Can' scratch-offs!"

Ye Yun complied and helped Stelle purchase the three scratch-offs. Aside from March 7th, everyone present had never seen such a thing and looked at Stelle with undisguised contempt. Stelle couldn't care less; she only knew she could open these magical Trash Can scratch-offs again!

The three scratch-offs appeared before them. Stelle pondered which one to "favor" first, much like an ancient emperor choosing a consort for the night. Clara was a bit confused by Stelle's train of thought.

"Big Brother Ye Yun, what is Big Sister Stelle doing? Why is she playing around with a bunch of trash cans?"

Ye Yun didn't know how to answer Clara. How could he put it? Should he say this was just one of her eccentric quirks? Hmm... never mind, it was better not to speak ill of people behind their backs.

Ye Yun called out to Rios. "Rios, take Hook and Clara out for a bit."

Rios chirped, scooped up the two little ones onto his back, and headed outside.

Soon, Stelle chose the first trash can to "favor."

"You're the one! Give it to me! Open!!!"

A golden light flashed through the room! Stelle struggled to keep her eyes open.

"Come forth! Golden Legend!!!"

The golden light faded, and a can of fermented herring—identical to the one from before—appeared before them. Stelle was stunned. No way! Not this herring again!

However, she didn't give up; she still had two more trash cans to go.

"Again! You're the one! Come forth! Golden Legend!!!"

Another flash of golden light, and a durian appeared on the spot.

Stelle had never seen a durian before and assumed it must be something wonderful. "Ye Yun! What is this? Did I strike gold again?"

Ye Yun looked at the durian and thought for a moment.

"How should I put this? It's a fruit. It's quite nutritious, and the flavor and texture aren't bad, but as for its value... I sell these for 1 Stellar Credit for ten. Do you want them?"

The moment Stelle heard the price of the durian, she petrified on the spot.

*Bazzaka!* She’d hit rock bottom again! The Stellar Credits she had worked so hard to earn by fighting monsters and opening boxes were almost gone!

March 7th looked at the durian in her hand, then at the frozen Stelle, a mischievous smile crossing her face.

"Hehe~ Stelle, I feel sorry for you, so I'll take this durian off your hands for 1 Stellar Credit. How about that? Aren't I nice? I'm offering you a 10x return!"

March 7th’s mention of the price caused Stelle’s composure to shatter completely. She had spent 1,000 Stellar Credits on a scratch-off, only to get a durian worth 0.1 Credits. Her mental state collapsed instantly.

Stelle fell to her knees, wailing. "Damn it! Why did I buy this! My credits! It hurts! My heart hurts! It hurts so much!"

Seele watched the remorseful Stelle and leaned over to whisper in Ye Yun's ear.

"Ye Yun, what's wrong with her? Is there something wrong with her brain?"

Ye Yun thought for a moment.

"Eh... you could put it this way: she's like a gambler who bet everything she had and lost it all."

Seele understood after Ye Yun's explanation. "I get it now. Just like those guys who place bets at the boxing gym, right?"

Ye Yun nodded. "Yes, that's one way to put it."

Just then, a voice rang out beside them. "Hey, Seele, can I borrow your scythe for a second?"

Ye Yun and Seele turned around to see March 7th holding the durian, smiling brightly at them. She shook the durian and chuckled.

"This thing has thorns, so I need your scythe to open it. We can eat it together afterward, how about that?"

Seele became interested; the fruit actually looked decent. "Here, take it."

Seele handed her scythe to March 7th. March 7th placed the durian on the table and swung the scythe twice.

*Crack!*

The scythe split the durian open, and its rich, unique aroma instantly filled the room. Seele was stunned! How could a fruit smell like this?! *Ugh!*

Seele suddenly noticed the scythe in March 7th’s hand, her pupils shrinking in horror. It was over! Her scythe! She quickly snatched it back and sniffed it. *Ugh... ugh...* It was over! It was tainted!

March 7th, Dan Heng, and Stelle weren't doing much better, all pinching their noses, trying to avoid the smell.

Ye Yun raised an eyebrow. No rush, no rush. Once they tasted the durian, they wouldn't be so repulsed by it anymore. He picked up the durian, scooped out a large chunk of flesh, and began to eat it in small bites.

"Mmm~ delicious. This durian tastes great. I'll buy some more later."

March 7th was shocked that Ye Yun actually dared to eat it. "Ye Yun, how can you eat such a stinky fruit?"

Ye Yun spoke with his mouth full, his words slightly muffled. "That's just how durians are. They smell pungent but taste delicious. Don't you want to try some?"

March 7th shook her head violently. "No way. How could something that smells this bad possibly taste good?"

Ye Yun swallowed the flesh. "How about this? You try a little bit. If it's not good, I'll give you 100 Stellar Credits. How's that?"

When March 7th heard that, she thought trying it might be worth it. She’d just take one tiny bite; if it was bad, she’d get 100 Credits.

"Fine... I'll try it, but just a tiny, tiny bit."

Ye Yun was a bit speechless—how could she possibly taste anything with just a tiny bit? He tore off a piece of the flesh and handed it to her.

"I'm not lying to you. Don't you see me eating it? It's absolutely delicious, just eat it!"

March 7th looked at the durian in her hand, then at Ye Yun, who was still eating. It really did seem delicious. She pinched her nose and popped it into her mouth.

She chewed.

"Mmm! This actually tastes pretty good! Ye Yun, give me another piece!"

Ye Yun tore off a whole chunk and handed it to her. March 7th took it and started eating with gusto.

Ye Yun turned to Dan Heng and tore off a piece for him. "Dan Heng, you should try some too. This durian is very nutritious; on one planet, it's known as the King of Fruits."

Dan Heng thought about it and took the durian. He couldn't let Ye Yun's kindness go to waste, and March 7th had already confirmed it tasted good—it just smelled bad. Dan Heng took a bite and found it wasn't bad at all.

Seeing this, Stelle grabbed a piece for herself and started eating. She had spent 1,000 Stellar Credits on this! Even if it wasn't good, she was going to eat it!
