Song Qi tightly clung to Shen Chiyan, refusing to let go.

Seeing this, President Liang, who had been chasing after them, immediately smiled at Shen Chiyan. “President Shen, your secretary has quite a fiery temper. I like that.”

President Liang reached out to grab Song Qi, but her body trembled as she clung desperately to Shen Chiyan’s slender waist, as if holding onto a lifeline.

Only one thought filled her mind: even if she were to die today, she would never let President Liang succeed.

Before President Liang could touch her, Shen Chiyan coldly swatted his hand away.

Taken aback, President Liang’s expression darkened instantly. “President Shen, what do you mean by this?”

“It’s clear you can’t conquer Secretary Song, President Liang.”

“That’s because I—”

Shen Chiyan cut him off. “If President Liang can’t succeed, then it’s best to have some self-awareness.”

Blood trickled down President Liang’s head, making his already bloated face look even more grotesque. His gaze was filled with malice as he looked at Song Qi in Shen Chiyan’s arms.

Then, sneering, he turned back to Shen Chiyan. “President Shen, our contract hasn’t been signed yet. Surely you don’t want to lose a partner like me?”

“Hmph…”

Shen Chiyan smiled faintly, looking down on President Liang like a mere ant. “No need to sign any contract. By tomorrow morning, Liang Group will be acquired by Shen Corporation.”

President Liang’s face changed drastically. “What did you say?”

But Shen Chiyan ignored her entirely, picking up Song Qi and heading toward a room.

President Liang tried to follow but was blocked by a stoic man in a black suit.

As soon as they entered the room, Shen Chiyan threw Song Qi onto the bed. Dazed and disoriented, she hadn’t even fully registered what was happening before Shen Chiyan pressed down on her.

“You seemed so happy smiling at President Liang. I gave you a chance to climb into his bed, so why did you run away?”

Song Qi’s heart ached deeply. If not for him, would she ever smile at President Liang?

He actually thought she wanted to sleep with Liang just because she smiled at him. Did he really think she was that cheap?

Seeing Song Qi’s tears, Shen Chiyan frowned deeply and roughly grabbed her chin.

“I thought you’d be willing to sacrifice everything for your father. Hmph… it seems your father means less to you than your own body!”

Faced with Shen Chiyan’s cold mockery, Song Qi was overwhelmed by sorrow and despair.

It was he who had given her to President Liang. It was he who had bullied her!

Looking at the man she had loved for years and who had mercilessly hurt her, her heart ached. Suddenly, she wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head up, pressing a deep kiss on his lips.

Shen Chiyan’s eyes darkened. He pushed her away fiercely. “You climbed into my bed when I was drunk last night. Why would you think I’d touch you now that I’m sober?”

Song Qi was stunned. Her beautiful, enchanting eyes, once filled with pain and despair, slowly grew numb. She reached out and pushed him—a silent plea: “If you don’t want me, then let me go!”

Something about her expression or gesture triggered Shen Chiyan. His dark eyes froze cold. He pinned her hands above her head with one hand and grabbed her chin with the other, biting her lips hard…

His kiss was fierce and possessive, as if trying to devour her whole.

Song Qi endured his fury in despair, utterly exhausted.

After an unknown stretch of time, Shen Chiyan’s anger had not subsided, but he realized Song Qi had gone completely still.

“Song Qi!”

He tapped her face and found she had fainted.

Shen Chiyan was speechless.

When Song Qi awoke again, her whole body ached terribly. Looking around, she found herself in a basement.

She hadn’t been with Shen Chiyan on the bed…

When had she come back?

Suddenly, the door was pushed open forcefully, and a servant carrying fragrant dishes entered.

Song Qi hadn’t eaten much all day yesterday and was starving, her stomach growling at the delicious aromas.

But she didn’t immediately get up to eat. Instead, she watched the servant warily.

Since marrying into the Shen family, because Shen Chiyan disliked her, the servants had bullied her relentlessly—never showing a kind face and often giving her leftover scraps.

Why would they suddenly bring her a hot, appetizing meal of three dishes and a soup?

The plump servant with a brutish face sneered at Song Qi’s wary gaze, his narrow eyes full of contempt. “Mute, you’re in for a treat today. Hurry up and eat.”

The servants never respected Song Qi. As Mrs. Shen, she held less status than a dog in the Shen household.

Coldly, Song Qi glared at the arrogant servant and motioned toward the door, signaling him to leave.

“Hmph… You want me to leave? Not a chance. The master said I have to watch you finish your meal first.”

Song Qi was dizzy with hunger; she knew she had to eat.

But she also wondered why Shen Chiyan was suddenly being so kind to her.

No matter. At least he wouldn’t kill her.

So Song Qi got up, sat in a chair, and began to eat.

Because Shen Chiyan was picky, anyone who cooked for the Shen family had to pass strict tests.

After more than three years of marriage, Song Qi finally tasted a delicious meal.

Seeing her eat without hesitation, the servant sneered, “You don’t think the master is being nice because you climbed into his bed, do you?”

Song Qi kept her head down, not even glancing at her, but the servant’s mouth would not be silenced.

“Hmph… The master lets you eat well and keep your strength only because of your blood. He doesn’t want you fainting constantly and ruining the quality of your blood.”

At that, Song Qi’s hand holding the chopsticks paused slightly.

No wonder Shen Chiyan hated her so much and had the servants bring such a fancy meal. It was because of this.

“You should be grateful your blood type matches Miss Lin’s. Otherwise, someone like you wouldn’t have a chance to marry the master, let alone sleep with him.”

The servant’s sarcastic voice continued, but the delicious food before Song Qi suddenly seemed swarming with flies, making her feel nauseous just looking at it.

“Hey, hurry up and eat. This damn room stinks. Just smelling it makes me want to puke.”

The servant covered her nose, making a retching gesture.

“Tch… Your father’s a beast, and you inherited his genes. You’re a filthy woman. Just being near you makes people uncomfortable… ah!”

Before the servant could finish, she screamed.

Song Qi splashed the soup she’d been served right in her face.

She could endure their insults aimed at her, but not their insults against Song Guanliang.

The soup was scalding hot. The servant jumped, screaming, “Ah… my face, my face!”

In the next moment, furious, she glared at Song Qi and lunged at her savagely.

“Damn mute! You uncherished cast-off wife, you ruined my face. Let’s see how I deal with you today!”
