Chapter 48: You're Absolutely Insane

The problem was that to cure this poison, one person had to suck all the toxins out of another person's body and kill every tiny parasite inside. In other words, the person who did this would be certain to die.
Li Wangxi and Wang Yanjing looked grim. Both were pondering whether there was another way. Just as they were thinking, a white barrier suddenly appeared in the room. Electricity crackled across its surface.
The barrier was slowly expanding, as if it intended to trap everyone inside the room. Li Wangxi and Wang Yanjing quickly tried to figure out what to do, but it was futile—the barrier moved too fast. Soon, it enclosed them both.
They tried desperately to escape, but it was useless. Inside the barrier, they couldn’t harness their energy at all. The barrier’s area kept shrinking. Worse still, the electricity within it began to leak out gradually.
Li Wangxi and Wang Yanjing were being electrocuted, jolted violently by the shocks. They said nothing, merely enduring the pain. Fortunately, the current wasn’t too strong; for the moment, they could still bear it.
Now, all they could do was wait for Li Yan to wake up. But after a long wait, not only did Li Yan remain unconscious, his condition worsened.
Suddenly, Li Yan sat up stiffly from the floor. His eyes were bloodshot, and he seemed not to recognize Li Wangxi and Wang Yanjing anymore. He quickly killed all the parasites on his body, then approached the barrier.
Li Wangxi and Wang Yanjing lay on the ground, moaning in pain. Seeing Li Yan wake up, they were overjoyed. Smiling, they called out, “Son, please get rid of this barrier quickly, or we’ll be electrocuted to death!”
But unexpectedly, Li Yan smiled back and said, “Who’s your son?”
Their hearts sank at his words. It seemed Li Yan had fallen into amnesia again.
Wang Yanjing and Li Wangxi fought back once more, gathering all their energy to attack the barrier. This time, they succeeded. However, their energy also struck Li Yan.
Gradually, Li Yan regained his senses. Seeing his parents before him, his eyes reddened slightly as he said, “Mom, Dad, stay back a little. I’ll save you.”

Li Wangxi and Wang Yanjing breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Li Yan finally regain his sanity. If he hadn’t, matters would have been much more difficult.
Li Yan swiftly attacked the barrier with his energy. Cracks soon appeared on its surface. But he couldn’t endure long. A massive force rebounded and hit him, forcing him several steps backward and drawing blood.
Wiping the blood from his mouth in pain, he pressed on. This time, he focused his attacks on the cracks. The fissures grew larger, and hope for his parents’ rescue brightened.
Yet, inexplicably, just as the barrier was about to break completely, it autonomously healed itself. All of Li Yan’s efforts were in vain.
Panic and helplessness gripped Li Yan. He didn’t understand why this was happening. But he refused to give up.
He launched another attack. This time, the barrier vanished outright.
Overjoyed, Li Yan rushed to his parents’ side. Just as he was about to reunite with them, the sinister leader appeared beside them and seized control over the two.
Seeing this, Li Yan was truly alarmed. He pleaded with the leader, “Let them go. If you have anything against me, take it out on me. I’ll do whatever you want.”
The sinister leader smirked, teasing, “Really, anything?”
Desperately, Li Yan nodded, repeatedly promising that he would do anything as long as his parents were spared.
The leader laughed coldly, “What if I want you dead?”
Li Yan did not rush to accept death. After all, if he died first, he wouldn’t even know what fate awaited his parents.
Frowning, he said, “I’m willing to die, but you have to return them to me so I can cure them—and watch over them as they recover.”
The leader’s smile deepened. “It seems you still don’t understand your situation. Do you really think you have the right to bargain with me?”
With that, the leader conjured two cages and locked Li Yan’s parents inside.

After imprisoning them, the sinister leader swiftly approached Li Yan. Grabbing him, he forced him into a corner and said, “Today, I want you to understand what happens when you betray me. You won’t have a good end. Neither will your parents.”
Li Yan tried to flee, but the leader dragged him to the center of the dungeon. From somewhere, he produced a needle and plunged it into Li Yan’s neck.
Pain shot through Li Yan’s body. He wanted to pull out the needle but was immobilized by the leader’s control.
Frowning, he struggled with all his might, but it was useless.
The leader laughed loudly and arrogantly, his voice echoing in the chamber.
Disgusted by the sound, Li Yan closed his eyes. Yet the voice rang again in his ear, “Open your eyes. I want you to watch closely what fate your parents will meet.”
Reluctantly, Li Yan’s eyes flew open, uncontrollable.
The leader moved to Li Wangxi’s cage, unlocked it, and dragged him out.
Li Wangxi struggled desperately, trying to evade, but was helpless—like a chick being held.
The leader produced a bench and pushed Li Wangxi onto it, forcing him to lie face down. Then, a knife appeared in the leader’s hand.
He began slicing Li Wangxi’s flesh again and again.
Li Wangxi screamed in agony and struggled violently, but the control held firm.
The leader carved away large chunks of flesh, blood flowing like a river.
Seeing this, Li Yan wept and shouted angrily, “You’re a madman! What I did has nothing to do with him! If you have the guts, come torture me instead!”
His voice choked with emotion.
Wang Yanjing was crying too.
Blood pooled on the floor beneath Li Wangxi.
