Chapter Two: Now, It’s My Turn to Take Revenge on You! The Apocalypse Game?
Li Yan frowned, silently reciting an incantation. As he finished, a powerful gust of energy surged from his body, sending the zombies that had been biting and clawing at him flying through the air. The zombies, struck by the force, seemed to suffer internal injuries and lay motionless on the ground for a long while before barely managing to rise.
Li Yan smiled as he watched the scene, standing up and brushing the dust off his clothes. He fixed his gaze on the clearly frightened horde and said coldly, “Now, it’s my turn to take revenge. You all must die.”
With that, he waved his hand, and a strong energy pulled the zombies closer to him. Then, one bolt of heavenly lightning after another struck down upon them. The zombies screamed miserably, some even begging for mercy. But Li Yan paid them no heed.
After the thunderstorm, most of the zombies lay dead, though a few still clung to life. A wave of dizziness washed over Li Yan; his body swayed slightly. It seemed that although this power was formidable, it was prone to backlash. He needed to finish this quickly.
He pondered carefully, then began chanting another spell. This time, in front of the remaining zombies, a dark vortex appeared—a black hole that sucked them all in. Looking around, Li Yan saw no zombies left and felt quite satisfied. Yet he knew that the longer he lingered, the worse the backlash would become.
He quickened his pace and ran toward the safe zone. After about ten minutes, he arrived and hurried inside a building. Exhausted, he collapsed into sleep.
When he awoke two hours later, all his wounds had healed. Surprised yet pleased, Li Yan rose swiftly, stepped out, and headed toward the weapon shop.
“I’m entering the game tonight. Without a reliable weapon to back me up, no matter how strong my abilities, danger is still possible,” he thought, quickening his steps.
Unexpectedly, a group of people suddenly blocked his path. Li Yan tried to change direction, but they surrounded him from behind as well. He scrutinized them, realizing he didn’t recognize any of them. Puzzled, he scratched his head and asked, “What are you doing? Why are you stopping me?”
One of them, glaring angrily, snapped, “You offended our boss. He sent us to capture you.”
Li Yan laughed bitterly, looking around to find no one else nearby. His eyes narrowed dangerously, and his tone turned cold. “I don’t know your boss, and I have urgent matters today. If you keep blocking me, you’ll regret it.”
Instead of backing down, they seized sticks and attacked. Seeing that reason was useless, Li Yan chanted a spell, forming hand seals. A fierce wave of energy erupted from him, sending them all flying.
He hadn’t intended to continue the fight, but despite being thrown back, they persisted. Somehow, they produced guns and fired several shots at him. Li Yan winced in pain, having dodged desperately but still hit—fortunately, not in a fatal spot.
With no other choice, he lowered his stance and spoke sincerely, “Put your guns downI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
